TODAY IN GENEVA SWITZERLAND MMA - STRENGTH & HONOR CHAMPIONSHIP 2010


"Strength & Honor strikes again!

The Théâtre du Léman in Geneva will once again be the host of a spectacular MMA show. ’In the Cage: the Battle for the Belt’ will take place on 10th April 2010 and will feature 10 professional MMA (Mixed Martial Art) fights with athletes from around the world.
The title says it all: the Modern Times gladiators will fight in a cage!
For Igor Araujo, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu black belt and MMA fighter with over 20 professional fights, ‘The cage is the symbol of the sport. It brings out the glamorous and spectacular side of MMA.
Even though for many years now MMA fights have been included in kickboxing events, it is the first time that a 100% professional MMA show will take place in Geneva.
'Raid Salah, President of the Strength & Honor league has worked very for this’, says Igor. 'Making Geneva an important place for MMA has been his dream ever since I’ve known him.’
‘I am thrilled to host this second event’, comments Raid, who also is President of the Swiss Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Federation. ‘After the success of Angels & Demons last September I had no doubts there would be a second event, bigger and more spectacular than the first one.’
For the first time in Geneva, modern time Herculean body gladiators will be fighting in a cage. Whether to Las Vegas for the very popular Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) or to ancient Rome, they will make the public travel without leaving their seats and offer a spectacular show.
