Against the best pound for pound fighter in the world, Thales Leites will try to make history. But he simply doesn’t care. Coming to his sixth title defense, Anderson Silva just dominated every guy who stepped inside the octagon against him, but Thales will be the first Brazilian to try to do it. For the first time in the UFC history, two Brazilians will collide for a title, and Thales guarantees he’s ready for that.
“I’m coming for this fight knowing that I’ve done everything I needed on training, I’m well focused physically and mentally, felling well. I’m calm, it’s just get there and fight”, says Leites, thinking only at the challenge. “The fact of this fight being rounded by speculations and everybody bring looking at us doesn’t bother me at all, I face it lake any other fight, but, obviously, this is much more important”.
With the belt as the biggest prize for the victory, Thales looks to keep it out of his mind. “I don’t keep thinking about it, how it will be later, if my career will change a lot, I don’t think about it because all my focus is on the fight. What will come later is later, I just care with the present, the fight, I don’t wanna think about nothing. I don’t feel pressure for being fighting for the belt”, commented Leites, ready for any situation.
