When Vitor Belfort entered the Affliction ring, he left with two more knockout victories in his record. After beating Terry Martin and Matt Lindland, the Phenom has, now, a tough challenge ahead. On August 1st, the Sengoku champion Jorge Santiago will be on the other corner, and Belfort guarantees he’s ready for the bout.
“The fight is confirmed. The expectation is the same, I’m happy, ready for the battle”, said the Brazilian, exclusively to TATAME.com. “I think it’s gonna be a good fight. I’m training hard, I’ll go for the knockout, the submission, I’m going to do my best there. The result is there, depends on what we’ll do”, analyzed Vitor, who only faced one Brazilian opponent in the entire career, the former Pride champion Wanderlei Silva, defeating the Axe Murderer but knockout with only 44 seconds.
“I’m happy, because it shows that Brazil is the biggest fighter exporter, but, on the other hand, I’m sad, but it’s ok, we’re professional. He’s a top athlete, from a good team”, commented the black belt, cheering for Renato “Babalu”, who faces Gegard Mousasi on the same night. “When two fighters enter the ring, the one who trained more, who gives more his hearth and sets the better game plan will win. They’re two champions, but I’m cheering for Babalu. I think it’s gonna be a great fight”, finished Belfort
