Pitbull: “This is the fight of my life”

Thiago "Pitbull" Alves will have the chance this Saturday, at the UFC 100, to be the first ever Brazilian welterweight champion in the UFC. Facing the champion Georges St. Pierre, the Brazilian promises a lot of action to win the title and dominate the event, with three titles to Brazil, and he doesn’t mind of being the underdog.

"In my last five fights I was the underdog and won. I feel comfortable with that. GSP is the man, but I think I’ve already faced guys as tough as him, like Josh Koscheck, and I won, so it doesn’t have much mystery. This is the fight of my life and I won’t go there to lose", guarantees, in the report that was cover of the TATAME Magazine #159, with to Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida. In an impressive campaign in Ultimate, knocking out big names like Matt Hughes and Karo Parysian, the American Top Team athlete ensures that his main strategy to beat St. Pierre is "simple”: pressure.

"I know he’s an excellent strategist, but, strategist by strategist, I believe that I have the best professionals by my side, beyond the best training partners. Actually, my strategy is basically the same: pressure all the time and my hand hitting his face until I knock him out... It’s a matter of time", said the fighter, encouraged to make company to Anderson and Lyoto in the select group of champions of the UFC. "I’ve battle hard to get here. Since I was 14 years old I train and pray every day to be the best in the world, I see that as a consequence of this dedication.
