Champion of the Brazilian selective of ADCC, André Galvão flew to Barcelona as one of the favorites, but he faced Rômulo Barral. Submited on the final for who conquested the gold on the absolute, Galvão comes back home with a mission cumplished feeling.
“That’s a train to me, to Jacaré... Jaca was called on the last time, I had a fight on October but was canceled then I decided to come. I wasn’t focused on ADCC, but on MMA, the train was all to MMA, I trained a lot Muay Thai“, said the black belt, remembering that his preparantions to the selectives were more especifics.
“On the selective I was better, with more spinning, and this time I lost a lot of positions. I went until the end, but I kept fighting, was more calm, because the train wasn’t for ADCC. But that’s okay, I think I did well. I fought right, beated though athletes, made a lot of though fights, but that’s it“, afirmed Galvão, comenting his mistakes on the final. “I made a mistake at the beginning of the fight, I forgot the negative on the first ten minutes and I pulled the guard. I was with less one, then I thought ’let’s go’. My tactic was to play a little on top with Bráulio, I though he wants to stay under“.
Trying to stay under, André was surprised. “Even before starts the time with points I’ve already swept him to be on top and almost passed his guard. I fought going for it. He’s a dangerous guy, has dangerous moves... I didn’t respected this moves and he fitted a triangle that surprised me. I had see his moves, but I didn’t expect that and he got on the pressure and I felt“, concluded the vice champion, promissing to be back on 2011.
