At Pride times, Wanderlei Silva and Maurício Shogun Rua was inseparable friends, but the end of the event and both of them leaving Chute Boxe team, when Silva decided to move to Las Vegas, put them in different directions. But the friendship remains the same.
While Rua is getting ready to his second title shot against Lyoto Machida fot the UFC light heavyweight gold, the fighter commented Silva’s victory against Michael Bisping, on UFC 110, to TATAME.com. “He has a lot of heart and will, he can do great in this division, it’ll only depend on him,” Shogun said.
And talking about the middleweight division, Maurício commented the title fight between Anderson Silva, his former team mate at Chute Boxe, and Demian Maia, who helped him in trainings to fight Chuck Liddell. “It’s gonna be a tough fight, both are top athletes”, Shogun analyzes. “I’ll be watching this fight for sure, but I think Anderson has vantages due to his experience, he’s the champion”.
