The selective to the first Professional World Championship of Jiu-Jitsu that will happen on April 30 and May 2, in Abu Dhabi, still with full gas. On February 28, the selective agitated in Florida,United States, and once again the Brazilians gave a show aside: Marcello Salazar (Grappling World Champion, in 2008) started the Brazilian party, followed by Renato Tavares, who earned the silver medal, and Marcão Oliveira "Santa Cruz", who closed the category with the veteran Moacir "Boca" and the absolute with Rodrigo "Comprido" Mendes.
Marcão was very happy to have the passport stamped for Abu Dhabi and didn’t hide the surprise for the classification, since he hasn’t had training with kimono. "For me it was an honor to get to the final with Boca, I guy that I met in purple belt and found again doing a black final. It was my first competition of black belt with kimono, because I came from a long season in which I didn’t fought Jiu-Jitsu, since I’m focusing a lot on Grappling, Wrestling and MMA, something that until recently seemed impossible and now, after my ranking, I'm going to fight the first World Professional of Jiu-Jitsu", he said, proud.
On March 1st, it was Japan’s turn to host another selective for the World Cup. Another different place, another Brazilian party. The Brazilians highlights that ensured the presence on the World Championship were Juan Caio (Bonsai Japan), who was champion in the category purple belt at 95kg division, Max Fernandes (Extreme Barbosa), in the black belt category up to 85kg, and the black belt Roberto Souza (Bonsai Japan), who were the best at 75kg division.
The selective, which are running the world, will have like next destination the city of Barcelona, Spain, this weekend (7 and 8), and the last one will be in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, with the South American selective, which happens March 21st and 22nd, with promise of good prizes, plain tickets, accommodation and visa to the World Championship.
The master Carlão Santos, who is leading the invasion of soft art in theUnited Arab Emirates, is very pleased with the work that’s being developed. "All the champions of these events will come with everything paid to fight at the World Championship here in Abu Dhabi, and they already entered at the second phase of the event. I’m sure that from this event in May, which is the first professional world championship of Jiu-Jitsu in history, definitely the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu will be professional", finalized Carlão.
