New Fighters Only magazine, which brings Wanderlei Silva, again on the cover, features an interview with MMA fighter, black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Gustavo "PC" Picone, professor of SWISS TOP TEAM in Luzern, Switzerland. Student Jorge Patino "Macaco," Gustavo has trained with great names like Thiago Silva, fighter of the biggest event in the world of MMA, UFC, among other great fighters renowned. Gustavo talks about his life in Switzerland and the difficulties of finding an opponent for a fight in MMA.

Gustavo ,, PC" Picone ist ein 31-jähringer MMA-Kämpfer und hält einen Braungurt im Judo und Schwarzgurte in Hapkido sowie im Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Er stammt aus São Paulo in Brailien und lebt seit drei jahren in der Schweiz....


Du kommst urprünglich aus Brasilien. Was hat Dich anch Europa vershlagen?
Ich hatte in Brasilien einen eigenen Club, und es lief eini germasen 
gut. Mein manager rief mich an und gab mir die 
Gelegenheit, in die Schweiz zu gehen, um dort zu unterrichten. 
Diese Gelenheit habe ich sofort beim Schopf gepackt.
Da es in dem Club jedoch allgemein nicht fut lief, habe ich mich gemeinsam mit meinem Partner Patrik entscheiden,  ein eigenes Team zu gründen, dsa Swiss Top Team in Luzern. 
Wir sind ein gutes Team und haben einige junge und starke Kämpfer, die bereits erste Erfolge verbuchen konnten.

Jiu-Jistu and Wrestling together on MMA

Betting on the Brazilian talent, the former wresler Rico Chaparelli, the same guy who brought names such as Mark Colleman, Mark Kerr, Randy Couture and Dan Henderson from the Wrestling mat’s to MMA’s ring, signed a partnership with the Jiu-Jitsu’s black belt Fernando Lopes. And this news promises many chances for the MMA fighters from Brazil.

“I’ve set a partnership with Mr. Rico Chaparelli, known five-time world champion of Wrestling. My job is to bring Brazilian athletes to fight in events like UFC, Strikeforce, Dream and Bellator, among others”, reveals Fernando, at first hand to TATAME, explaining their new partnership. “Due to the easy access of Rico to the biggest events of MMA and my strong contact in Brazil with great fighters, we’ve opened this society and we need to start our work right away”.

“Fepa” explains that the interested in shinning on international MMA must send their résumés, videos and all material they have to the email fepalopes@hotmail.com. “We’ll be agents of the athletes and we’ll try to make they fight on the events I pointed out before, and others too”, explains, guaranteeing a first class infrastructure in America. “The chosen ones will go to the United States two months before the fight and will sharp their skills on Rico’s gym in Los Angeles, with all expenses paid”, promises.

Apostando no talento tupiniquim, o ex-wrestler Rico Chaparelli, o mesmo que levou nomes como Mark Colleman, Mark Kerr, Randy Couture e Dan Henderson dos tatames de Wrestling para os ringues de MMA, fechou parceria com o faixa-preta de Jiu-Jitsu Fernando Lopes. E essa novidade promete muitas chances aos atletas de MMA do Brasil.

“Fiz uma sociedade com o Sr. Rico Chaparelli, renomado pentacampeão mundial de Wrestling. Minha função é levar atletas brasileiros para lutarem eventos como UFC, Strikeforce, Dream e Bellator, entre outros”, revela Fernando Lopes, o "Fepa", em primeira mão à TATAME, explicando a parceria. “Devido ao fácil acesso do Rico aos maiores eventos de MMA do mundo e do meu contato forte no Brasil com grandes lutadores, fechamos essa sociedade e já precisamos começar os trabalhos”.

Fepa conta que os interessados em brilhar no MMA internacional devem enviar currículos, vídeos e todo material disponível para o e-mailfepalopes@hotmail.com. “Seremos agentes dos atletas e os ofereceremos nos eventos citados acima e outros mais”, explica, garantindo uma infra-estrutura de primeiro mundo na América. “Os escolhidos irão para os Estados Unidos com uma antecedência de dois meses da luta marcada e ficarão afinando seus treinamentos na academia do Rico em Los Angeles, com as despesas pagas”, promete.

Anderson’s sparring wins at the Jungle Fight

After debuting on the Northest making na edition in Fortaleza, Ceará, Jungle Fight Championship did another edition of the event on that area, but this time the place chosen was the city of Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. The event took place on Nélio Dias’ gym, it was a major audience success, and the gym was so crowed that it beat the marks od the Volleyball games from the CBV (Brazilian Confederetation of Volleyball) and of Footbal, according to Julio Protássio, Secretary of Sports and Entertainment in Natal, who supported the event along with the manager Miguel Webber.

Inside the rings, the fighters followed the event’s schedule set by it promoter, Wallid Ismail, and they fought as warriors. On the main event of the night, Erik Silva and Zezão Trator had a fight that took our breath away. Both fighters started to bang since the beginning, and everything made us believe that anyone could fall any time. And it was the second round when it happened, and Erik was knocked down by Trator with a knee on the clinch and the combat ended on the ground and pound, which was interrupted by the referee in charge, who pointed out the TKO. Erik will not face Gil de Freitas on September 18, on Jungle Fight Sao Paulo.

Who showed a lot of conditioning was Yuri Marajó, who after fitting a triangle got a body slam, he was completely dazzled and almost was knocked out by Armando Gomes. Showing an excellent recovery, Yuri got the takedown and the mount on his opponent’s back until the intermission of the referee yet on the first round. Yuri should face on the next Jungle Massaranduba, Ataíde Junior’s pupil for the belt of the event.

Coming from a defeat to Gil de Freitas on the judges round card decision, Edilberto Crocotá made up with himself as he knocked out the local kid Rondinelli Rodrigues with a great upper. Jair Rodrigues’ student, from Kimura, Dinarte took Eduardo Telles sown after three really tough rounds. Telles got Dinarte on the ground twice, and got the mount and punished him with punches. Meanwhile, Dinarte passed most of the time on the stand up fight, connecting better coups and got the win on the decision of the judges.

Another fight which called the attention was the bout between Renato Moicano and João Paulo. Ataíde Jr’s pupil, Moicano showed a lot of spin and almost submitted the warrior from Recife, João Paulo, who did not tap out and resisted to his blows. The win came on the unanimous decision of the judges in favor of Moicano, because of his willingness, while Wallid was more concerned about doing what he has promised to do to the athlete, which was to show his willingness. “He fought as a warrior and lasted until the end. You canbe sure you’ll see him again on the event”, warned Ismail.

On the next edition of Jungle, the champion of two divisions might be chosen. Jungle will come back in Sao Paulo in September and in November will be back to Natal. “After this huge audience success, we’re planning to do another edition of the event here”, said the promoter of the event, Wallid Ismail, who was informed by Webber right away when it should happen. “Wallid can write it down on his agenda that we’ll be back with Jungle in Natal in November”. Show de lutas na estreia do Jungle em Natal

Depois de estrear no Nordeste realizando uma edição em Fortaleza, no Ceará, o Jungle Fight Championship voltou a realizar um show na região, dessa vez o local escolhido foi a cidade de Natal, no Rio Grande do Norte. Realizado no novíssimo ginásio Nélio Dias, o evento foi sucesso de público, que compareceu em peso e bateu o recorde dos jogos de Vôlei da CBV e do Futsal, segundo informou Julio Protássio, Secretario de Esportes e Lazer de Natal, que apoiou o evento ao lado do empresário Miguel Webber.

Dentro do ringue os lutadores seguiram a cartilha do promotor do evento, Wallid Ismail, e lutaram como guerreiros. Na luta principal da noite, Erik Silva e Zezão Trator fizeram uma luta de tirar o fôlego. Os dois partiram para a trocação franca desde o início, e tudo indicava que alguém poderia cair a qualquer instante. E foi na segunda etapa que isso aconteceu, quando Erik levou Trator a knockdown com uma joelhada do clinche e terminou o combate no ground and pound, onde o árbitro decretou o nocaute técnico. Erik encara gora Gil de Freitas no dia 18 de setembro, no Jungle Fight em São Paulo.

Quem mostrou muito coração também foi Yuri Marajó, que depois de encaixar um triângulo e levar um bate estacas, ficou grogue e quase foi nocauteado por Armando Gomes. Mostrando uma excelente recuperação, Yuri conseguiu a queda e castigou da montada e das costas até a interrupção do juiz ainda no primeiro assalto. Yuri deve encarar no próximo Jungle Massaranduba, aluno de Ataíde Junior, pelo cinturão até 70kg do evento.

Vindo de derrota para Gil de Freitas na decisão dos juízes, Edilberto Crocotá se redimiu e nocauteou com um belo upper o lutador local Rondinelli Rodrigues. Aluno de Jair Rodrigues, da Kimura, Dinarte derrotou Eduardo Telles depois de três assaltos duríssimos. Telles chegou a levar Dinarte para o chão duas vezes, onde montou e castigou com socos. No entanto, Dinarte passou a maior parte da luta em pé, conectando os melhores golpes e levou na decisão dividida dos juízes.

Outra luta que chamou a atenção foi entre Renato Moicano e João Paulo. Aluno de Ataíde Jr., Moicano mostrou muito giro e por pouco não finalizou o guerreiro de Recife, João Paulo, que não bateu e resistiu a todos os golpes e investidas de Moicano. A vitória acabou sendo na decisão unânime a favor de Moicano, mas por ter lutado com muita garra, Wallid tratou de mais uma vez cumprir o que vem prometendo aos atletas que lutam com raça em seu evento. “Lutou como um guerrerio e foi até o final. Você pode ter certa que vai voltar a lutar no Jungle”, avisou Ismail.

Na próxima edição do Jungle já deverão ser definidos os campeões das categorias até 70kg e até 77kg. O Jungle volta a São Paulo em setembro e em novembro estará de volta a Natal. “Depois de batermos este recorde, já estamos programando mais uma edição aqui”, disse o promotor do evento, Wallid Ismail, que logo foi informado por Webber o mês que acontecerá o show. “Wallid, pode anotar na agenda que em novembro o Jungle voltará a Natal”. Cigano: “Sonnen is not dangerous”

UFC 117, which happens next Saturday (7) on the United States, has great potential to be remarkable on MMA history. With a card filled with stars, five Brazilians were chosen and promise to bring a lot of emotion to the biggest octagon in the whole world. Coming from a controversy performance, on which Anderson Silva abused of the provocations against Demian Maia, all the looks have turned to Spider’s act, who will face another guy who love to tease, Chael Sonnen, and he will have to defend his middleweight belt again. The American has been using the media to provoke Anderson in all possible ways and the expectations are for a great fight. Junior Cigano, who confronts Roy Nelson on the same night and is a member of Anderson’s team, believes that Sonnen is not dangerous enough to beat the currently champion of the middleweight division.

“A bout is a bout, you can never know what will happen, but of course that Anderson is the favorite. Sonnen doesn’t offer much danger to Anderson, because Anderson has more than everybody’s expectation of a win, he’s also a very smart guy and has been proving it on the last years on which he’s been fighting on UFC. It’ll be another great result for him, I believe he’ll keep himself as the champion and that this title will remain here in Brazil, for the happiness of we, who are members of his team and also are Brazilians”, said Cigano, who bets on the superiority of Anderson both on the stand up game and on the ground game. “I believe Anderson can knock him out and even submit him, because Anderson’s Jiu-Jitsu is a lot better than his”, concluded Cigano, who is coming from five knockouts in a row on UFC. Cigano: “Sonnen não oferece perigo”

O UFC 117, que acontece nesse sábado (7) nos Estados Unidos, tem tudo para ser um marco na história do MMA. Com um card repleto de estrelas, cinco brasileiros estão escalados e prometem trazer muita emoção ao maior octógono do mundo. Vindo de uma atuação que gerou polêmica no mundo do MMA, Anderson Silva mais uma vez atrai todos os olhares para sua luta, dessa vez contra o falastrão Chael Sonnen, em mais uma defesa do cinturão dos médios. O americano vem usando a mídia para provocar Anderson de todas as maneiras possíveis e a expectativa para a luta é enorme. Junior Cigano, que enfrenta Roy Nelson na mesma noite e faz parte da equipe de Anderson, acredita que Sonnen não vai oferecer perigo ao atual campeão dos médios.

“Luta é luta e a gente nunca sabe como vai se desenrolar, mas é claro que o Anderson é favorito. O Sonnen não oferece perigo para o Anderson, pois o Anderson além da experiência que tem a seu favor, também é um cara muito inteligente e tem mostrado isso ao longo dos anos em que vem lutando pelo UFC. Vai ser mais um grande resultado para ele, acho que ele vai se manter campeão e esse título vai continuar no Brasil, para a felicidade de nós que somos de sua equipe e dos brasileiros em geral”, disse Cigano, que aposta na superioridade de Anderson tanto em pé quanto no chão. “Eu acredito em um nocaute do Anderson e até em uma finalização, pois o Anderson tem mais Jiu-Jitsu do que ele”, finalizou Cigano, que vem de cinco nocautes seguidos no UFC. Nesta primeira edição especial, que trouxemos tudo o que aconteceu no décimo quinto Mundial de Jiu-Jitsu e, assimo como há 15 anos, um membro do clã Gracie é o destaque. Roger Gracie continua colocando a família no topo e vem fazendo história nos tatames. No Mundial deste ano, o Gracie bateu a marca histórica de sete títulos na categoria e três no absoluto, totalizando 10 títulos mundiais na faixa-preta. Na matéria, você poderá acompanhar todos os show do Mundial que quebrou todos os recordes em 14 anos de história.

No entanto, o Mundial não gira em torno apenas dos campeões da faixa-preta. Assim como fizemos em nossa edição brasileira, nós mostramos que nossos olhos estão fixados no mercado internacional de Jiu-Jitsu. Para provar isso, nós fizemos uma matéria especial que mostra que americanos, dinamarqueses, suíços, entre outros países, tem aumentado o número de medalhas nos últimos cinco anos. Nós apontamos também alguns lutadores talentosos que poderão em breve repetir as façanhas de BJ Penn e Rafael Lovato Jr., os únicos não-brasileiros a ganhar um título mundial na faixa-preta.

Nestes 15 anos de história, temos constantemente falado sobre a possibilidade de ver o Jiu-Jitsu nos Jogos Olímpicos. Com o crescimento do esporte no mundo todo e o Rio de Janeiro ter sido escolhida o palco para os Jogos de 2016, tentamos descobrir o que está faltando para termos a arte suave nos Jogos Olímpicos de 2016. Esta edição especial traz também um artigo sobre a polêmica guarda 50/50 (fifty-fifty).
