Last weekend, Bianca Andrade (Gracie Barra) won, at Rio de Janeiro, her seventh Brazilian title, at the featherweight category. With two fights, the fighter faced twice the black belt Marina Ribeiro, from Checkmat team. With the gold medal, Bianca talked to TATAME.com while leaving the mat.
"I had already faced Marina in the South-American and she won me for an advantage. In the semi (of the Brazilian), I submitted her, and now in the final... I was very determined in what I was doing and I came to win”, says Bianca. "I didn’t came wanting a revenge, I think that the athlete who move by revenge doesn’t get anywhere... I came for the Jiu-Jitsu", guarantees the black belt, who returns her focus, now, to the World Championship, looking for her fifth title in the competition.
"There has the Japanese from my category, who are very strong, the French, so there is no favoritism... The Brazilian Championship was a very strong emotional shot to get to the World Cup", said Bianca, without pointing the victorious curriculum as a guarantee of another victory inCalifornia. "Every year is a renewal and there is never a favorite, some fall and others rise, when the best fall, they come back even better", concluded Bianca, who embarks on June 1 for the competition. Stay tuned in the TATAME to know all the details of the Jiu-Jitsu World Championship of 2009.
