The next FILA tournament coming up is the Swiss Budo Open that will be organized at the Yogaka MMA Academy in Root (Lucerne) on 21 June 2009. The tournament will be held according to the FILA rules in Gi and No-Gi divisions for both beginners and advanced grapplers. The weigh-in will take place from 9 to 11 am and the competition will start at 12 pm.
The tournament will be preceded by an international FILA referees' course on 20 June 2009 open to all candidate referees who want to obtain their international certification, but also to the licensed referees who want to upgrade their category. The course will start at 12 pm and will last about 3 hours. It will cover all essential aspects for grappling referees to judge matches fairly and safely. The candidates will be requested to take a written exam and will be put at practice the next day during the Swiss Budo Open.
