Coming from losses against Gustavo Ximú (WFC) and Erick Silva (Jungle Fight), Jorge Michelan faced the experienced Fabrício Monteiro at Real Fight 7. With three seconds left in the first round, he forced the tap after securing a leg lock, getting the middleweight title to Checkmat’s camp.
“He’s an exceptional guy, I’m a fan of Fabrício and, thanks God, I could make my strategy and do everything right. My mistake was my passivity on the fights and I’m trying to be a little more aggressive now. I could do what I wanted, my ground game. I passed thru hard moments at the beginning, as usual, but Jiu-Jitsu dominated and Jesus Christ blessed me again”, said the champion.
Staying at the same hotel that his opponent, Michelan passed for bad moments to hide an injury and don’t make things easier to the opponent. “I’m coming from a war, I was in a bad phase, coming from two losses… Everyone that follows me knows that my foot is hurt. It was a big war to be two days at the same hotel that Fabrício and have to hold on to don’t limp and don’t show I was hurt”, said Jorge, celebrating the conquest.
“It’s an honor, that’s a big event in Brazil . It gave me more incentive, now I’m a father, what’s more incentive to me. We’re negotiating some fights, but there’s nothing for sure yet. Now I’ll take some time, take care of my foot and my hand, that are injured, and, when I get 100%, I’ll be back to war”, finished Michelan.
