After two victories in a row, the Brazilian Wilson Gouveira, who decided to go to the middleweight, suffered his first defeat on the weight to Nate Marquardt, one o the biggest names o the category. Back to the octagon this Saturday (UC 107), against Alan Belcher, the Brazilian reaches the victory with his eyes on a revenge against Marquardt.
"A lot o people come with apologizes when they’re defeated, but at that moment he was the best and that’s it. I’m working to make my game better and to become more complete. I hope I can ace him again”, said Wilson, who was knocked out in less than two minutes to the end o the fight. “I’m conscious that I’m not prepared to face a guy as Anderson Silva. Because o that I’m trying to be better as a fighter, not just technically, but psychologically too”.
And He talks about the wish to fight for the belt with Anderson, but carefully. “One thing is the guy to think that he will beat the champion; but to win the champion is another thing totally different. Anderson is the Champion because He is the Best and that’s it. Of course someone will take the belt away from him someday, but until it happens a lot of competitors will show confidence to defeat him and, on the fight, won’t accomplish what they promised”, said.
Although, before thinking about the belt, Gouveia Will have to beat Alan Belcher. "Belcher is really strong, He has a great Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai. I’ve trained a lot and, if it’s God’s willing, everything will work to me”, said, without worry with the defeats I had, I would have ended my career in 2003. Each fight is different. It’s simple: I’ll go to the octagon and try to do my work”, finished, in interview to the official website of UFC in Brazil.

Wilson Gouveia quer revanche com Marquardt

Após conquistar duas vitórias consecutivas, o brasileiro Wilson Gouveira, que decidira descer para o peso médio, acabou sofrendo sua primeira derrota no peso para Nate Marquardt, um dos maiores nomes da categoria. De volta ao octagon neste sábado (UFC 107), contra Alan Belcher, o brazuca busca a vitória de olho numa revanche contra Marquardt.
"Muitas pessoas vêm com desculpas quando são derrotadas, mas naquele momento ele era o melhor e é isso. Eu estou trabalhando para melhorar meu jogo e me tornar mais completo. Espero poder encará-lo novamente", afirmou Wilson, que acabou nocauteado a menos de dois minutos do fim da luta. "Eu sou consciente de que não estou preparado para encarar um cara do calibre do Anderson Silva. Por conta disso estou tentando melhorar como lutador, não apenas tecnicamente, mas psicologicamente também".
E ele comenta o desejo de disputar o cinturão com Anderson, mas com cautela. "Uma coisa é um cara pensar que ele vai vencer o campeão; mas vencer o campeão é uma coisa completamente diferente. Anderson é o campeão porque ele é o melhor e pronto. Claro que um dia alguém vai tirar o cinturão dele, mas até isso acontecer muitos competidores mostrarão confiança em derrotá-lo e, no momento da luta, não conseguirão cumprir o que prometeram", disse.
Porém, antes de pensar no cinturão, Gouveia tem que bater Alan Belcher. "Belcher é super forte, possui um grande Jiu-Jitsu e um Muay Thai afiado. Eu treinei muito, e, se Deus quiser, tudo dará certo para mim", disse, sem se preocupar com o fato de vir de derrota. "Se eu ficasse preocupado com as derrotas que tive, teria encerrado minha carreira em 2003. Cada luta é diferente da outra. A formula é simples: eu vou ao octógono e tento fazer o meu trabalho”, finalizou, em entrevista ao site oficial do UFC no Brasil.
