SHC 3 RESULTS

There was the last Saturday of good MMA Switzerland in Geneva, and very black belt in Jiu-Jitsu came to do his business.

At an event with just one win by decision of the judges, had the presence of many fighters who showed courage, and great desire in fights, making a great first spectacle of MMA in Switzerland, where the sport is still new.

Houve no último sábado MMA do bom na Suíça, em Genebra, e muito faixa-preta de Jiu-Jitsu apareceu para fazer seu serviço.

Num evento com apenas uma vitória por decisão dos jurados, teve a presença de muitos lutadores que mostrou garra, e muita vontade nas lutas, dando um grande espetaculo de primeiro no MMA da Suíça, onde o esporte ainda é novo.

Wanderlei gives "lesson" on Chael Sonnen

One of the most respected fighters in the history of MMA, both inside and outside the ring, Wanderlei Silva gave a "framed" in Chael Sonnen. Upset with the provocations of the U.S. to Anderson Silva, reaching sacanear the Nogueira brothers and Brazil, the Mad Dog took a trip to Texas, where he was honored to give advice "intimidating" to Sonnen.

"I think you can make a challenge, talk about the fight to promote, all right, but you have to be careful what you talk about Brazil. You keep saying bad things about Brazil ... You do not know Brazil. You have to respect what you do not know. I heard you talking about the Nogueira brothers. These guys are the history of the sport. You have to respect them. Do not do that, is dangerous. In Brazil we have a saying : who regards not lose their teeth, "said the former PRIDE champion, eye to eye with Sonnen, who just shook his head. Wanderlei dá “lição” em Chael Sonnen

Um dos lutadores mais respeitados da história do MMA, dentro e fora dos ringues, Wanderlei Silva deu uma “enquadrada” em Chael Sonnen. Chateado com as provocações do americano com Anderson Silva, chegando a sacanear os irmãos Nogueira e o Brasil, o Cachorro Louco aproveitou uma visita ao Texas, onde foi homenageado, para dar um conselho “intimidador” a Sonnen.

"Eu acho que você pode fazer um desafio, falar da luta, promover, tudo bem, mas você tem que tomar cuidado com o que você falar, sobre o Brasil. Você fica falando coisas ruins sobre o Brasil... Você não conhece o Brasil. Você tem que respeitar o que você não conhece. Eu ouvi você falando sobre os irmãos Nogueira. Esses caras são a história do esporte. Você tem que respeitá-los. Não faça mais isso, é perigoso. No Brasil nós temos um ditado: quem respeita não perde os dentes", afirmou o ex-campeão do Pride, olho no olho com Sonnen, que apenas sacudia a cabeça. Assista abaixo ao vídeo na íntegra:

Sonnen admitted to using banned substance

Chael Sonnen was caught out in the test for illicit substances after his fight against Anderson Silva at UFC 117. The urine-analysis results showed above-normal levels of testosterone, which would lead to enhanced performance.

The fighter did suggest he was taking an illegal substance prior to taking the test that would ultimately come up positive, as reported in a Sports Illustrated interview with the California State Athletic Commission’s George Dodd: “He only indicated that he was taking it but he never indicated why. Hejust let me know he was taking [something]. But when you do take it you still have to show a medical reason.”

Initially, Chael is suspended from the UFC for six weeks, during which the fighter will be allowed to present his defense. Sonnen may then end up banned from the octagon for a full year, as well as pay a 2,500-dollar fine.

Chael Sonnen foi flagrado no exame antidoping depois da luta contra Anderson Silva, no UFC 117.  O nível de testosterona na urina do lutador, segundo os exames, estava bem acima do normal, o que definitivamente melhoraria a performance do atleta.

Entretanto, uma das justificativas nos bastidores é de que Sonnen passava por problemas estomacais na semana anterior à luta e poderia ter tomado medicamentos. Apesar de não ter entrado em detalhes, esta inclusive foi a defesa do lutador.

“Ele só disse que estava tomando um medicamento, mas nunca disse o motivo. Sonnen só foi falar dessa medicação quando foi chamado para explicar o ocorrido, mas nunca apresentou uma razão médica”, declara o diretor executivo da Comissão Atlética da Califórnia, George Dodd, em entrevista ao site da revista “Sports Illustrated”.

Chael está previamente suspenso do UFC por seis semanas. Neste período, o lutador apresentará a sua defesa. Sonnen pode ficar, pelo menos, um ano afastado do octagon, além de pagar uma multa de 2.500 dólares.

Sonnen tests positive; path cleared for Belfort

After a hard-fought title fight at the August 7 UFC 117 event, where Anderson Silva pulled off a come-from-behind win over Chael Sonnen, a rematch was almost immediately scheduled for 2011. Now, though, those plans may be scrapped altogether.

With the recent revelation that Sonnen has failed the California Athletic Commission’s mandatory performance-enhancing-substances test, the future of the matchup is uncertain. So far, though, neither the fighter in question nor UFC president Dana White have addressed the matter.

Sonnen’s punishment should be announced in the days to come, and the fight with Silva will likely not happen too soon. This clears the way for a possible fight with Vitor Belfort, who is scheduled to face Yushin Okami on November 13, or perhaps a rematch with Nate Marquardt, who is coming off a win over Rousimar Toquinho.

Depois da dura luta no UFC 117, no dia 7 de agosto, com vitória para Anderson Silva sobre Chael Sonnen, a revanche estava confirmada para o início de 2011. Entretanto, o combate provavelmente não vai acontecer. 

Isso porque Sonnen testou positivo no exame antidoping realizado pela Comissão Atlética da Califórnia. Tanto o lutador quanto o presidente do UFC, Dana White, ainda não comentaram o assunto. 

A punição de Sonnen deve ser divulgada nos próximos dias e a luta contra o Aranha, provavelmente, não acontece tão cedo. Caminho aberto para Vitor Belfort, que enfrenta Yushin Okami no dia 13 de novembro, ou até mesmo para uma revanche contra Nate Marquardt, que vem de triunfo contra Rousimar Toquinho.
