I debuted on the event with two months of training of Kick Boxing and, since then, I’m competing, that helps me to see my fails to fix them“, tells, analyzing the other fights on the tournament.
“On the fight between Badr Hari and Ruslan Karaev, I think it’s hard to make a preview, besides Badr take advantage. I think that one of the finalists will be Semmy Schilt”, the Brazilian bets. Besides MMA’s growing, Ewerton doesn’t think about that. “I haven’t thought about that yet. If I would fight, I’d choose the heavyweight category”, tells, knowing that he need different training. “I have no idea of how it would be. First I’d have to learn something on the ground”, finished.

Ewerton Teixeira é o Brasil nas finais do K-1 World GP, programado para o dia 5 de dezembro na Terra do Sol Nascente. Morando no Japão desde a estreia no maior evento de trocação do mundo, o brasileiro conversou com a TATAME antes das finais do torneio, animado para enfrentar Alistair Overeem nas quartas-de-finais.
“Eu achei que ele evoluiu na parte técnica desde a luta com o Remy. Atualmente, ele não comete tantos erros na passada quanto na luta com Remy, o que o torna mais perigoso”, comentou Ewerton, confiante no título. “Ele é um atleta muito forte, mas me sinto bem preparado e o meu objetivo e o titulo do K-1 GP”, garante. Treinando forte no Japão, o carateca comentou a preparação.
“Foi muito boa. Dei bastante ênfase na parte de condicionamento físico. Agora, é só esperar o dia da luta”, disse, treinando com nomes de peso. “Os treinadores são Jayson Vemoa (Muay Thay), Mauricio da Silva (Kick Boxing) e Faii Falamoe (Boxe). Treinando aqui, já tive a oportunidade de treinar junto com vários atletas de alta qualidade, como Doug Viney, Takumi Sato, Ian Soukup, Alexander Pichkounov, Ray Sefo e Glaube Feitosa”, comentou.
Considerado um novato no K-1, onde luta há pouco mais de um ano, Ewerton terá que passar por nomes como Badr Hari e Semmy Schilt para levar o título, mas está confiante. “Ainda estou procurando aprender cada vez mais. Estreei no evento com dois meses de treino de Kick Boxing e, desde então, venho competindo com frequência, e isso me ajuda a enxergar melhor minhas falhas para que a cada luta possa arrumar isso”, conta, analisando as outras lutas do torneio.
“Da luta entre o Badr Hari e o Ruslan Karaev, eu acho muito difícil uma previsão, apesar de o Badr levar vantagem. Acredito que um dos finalistas será o Semmy Schilt”, aposta o brasileiro. Apesar do crescimento do MMA, esporte no qual seu próximo adversário é um dos grandes nomes dos pesados, Ewerton não pensa nessa possibilidade. “Ainda não pensei seriamente sobre isso. Se fosse lutar, optaria pela categoria pesado”, conta, ciente da necessidade de novos treinos. “Não tenho nem ideia de como seria. Primeiro, teria que aprender alguma técnica de solo”, finalizou.
