O site oficial do UFC realizou uma eleição dos melhores e piores momentos do ano, os lutadores que foram destaque e quem surpreendeu no octagon mais famoso do mundo. OS MELHORES LUTADORES:

“Derrotar BJ Penn e Thiago Alves em combates sucessivos é impressionante”, escreveu o crítico, explicando os motivos pelos quais colocou o canadense Georges St. Pierre como o melhor lutador do ano, colocando os brazucas Lyoto Machida e Anderson Silva logo atrás. “St-Pierre parece estar ficando melhor a cada luta, uma proposição assustadora para qualquer um que compete até 77kg”, analisa, colocando Maurício Shogun na quinta colocação.

AS MELHORES LUTAS

Elegendo os 15 minutos de pancadaria desenfreada entre Diego Sanchez e Clay Guida como melhor combate do ano, o UFC colocou o aguardado duelo entre Rodrigo Minotauro e Randy Couture na segunda colocação. “Esta foi uma luta de 15 minutos que quem viu não vai esquecer tão cedo, e foi também uma cartilha para o resto dos jovens lutadores, sobre a forma como você representa o esporte e você mesmo quando a campainha toca”.

Na lista completa, Wanderlei Silva aparece na quarta colocação, na derrota para Rich Franklin, Rafael dos Anjos aparece na oitava colocação, quando perdeu para Tyson Griffin, e a vitória de Lyoto sobre Shogun foi eleita a nona melhor luta de 2009. “O que faltou em termos de ação na luta pelo cinturão meio pesado do UFC entre Lyoto Machida e Mauricio Rua, certamente sobrou em termos de drama, durante e após o combate”, analisa.

OS MELHORES NOCAUTES

No MMA, o desfecho preferido de grande parte dos fãs é o nocaute, e Anderson Silva deu uma verdadeira aula na luta contra o ex-campeão da categoria de cima, Forrest Griffin, e recebeu o prêmio de melhor nocaute do ano. “Aprecie Anderson Silva agora, porque não haverá outro como ele”, avisou o UFC, colocando Lyoto Machida em segundo lugar, pelo nocaute contra Rashad Evans. Na quinta colocação, Nate Marquardt aparece pela vitória sobre Demian Maia, sendo seguido por Paulo Thiago (contra Josh Koscheck), Shogun (contra Chuck Liddell), Wilson Gouveia (na derrota para Marquardt) e Gabriel Napão (na derrota para Shane Carwin).

AS MELHORES FINALIZAÇÕES

A equipe RFT na Inglaterra não tem do que reclamar em 2009. Depois de vencer 66 das 70 lutas que fez no ano, a equipe foi premiada mais uma vez. Na eleição, o inglês Terry Etim, um dos cascas-grossas do time no Ultimate, recebeu o premio de melhor finalização do ano, quando pegou Justin Buchholz num justo triângulo de mão. Único brasileiro da lista, Demian Maia aparece na segunda colocação, pelo triângulo aplicado diante de Chael Sonnen.

AS MAIORES DECEPÇÕES

Decepção para os americanos, alegria para os brasileiros. No que foi considerado a maior decepção do ano, o nocaute de Paulo Thiago sobre Josh Koscheck foi uma festa para o Brasil, que assistiu seu policial do BOPE estrear contra uma das maiores pedreiras da categoria e encerrar a luta ainda no primeiro round.

Outro brasileiro da lista, Thales Leites, que acabou cortado do UFC, foi citado pela sua luta contra Alessio Sakara, quando foi derrotado na decisão. “Se você achou que a luta entre Kimbo Slice e Houston Alexander havia sido bizarra em termos de tática e ação, essa luta, definitivamente, chegou muito perto desse título”, publicou o site do UFC, colocando o duelo como a sétima maior decepção do ano.

OS MELHORES NOVATOS

O MMA é feito de surpresas, e Paulo Thiago, pelas vitórias no seu primeiro ano de UFC, abocanhou uma das primeiras posições no ranking de melhores novatos de 2009. “Ninguém conhecia Paulo Thiago antes da sua luta no UFC 105 contra o favorito Josh Koscheck, mas isso mudou aos 3:29 minutos do confronto quando o brasiliense derrotou ´Kos` diante de um público em choque em Londres. Thiago provou seu valor em uma derrota dura na decisão para Jon Fitch no UFC 100 e fechou 2009 com uma bela vitória em três rounds sobre Jacob Volkmann”, escreveu o UFC, colocando o brasileiro na oitava colocação, em lista que tem Paul Daley na dianteira.

AS MELHORES DERROTAS

Perder nunca é bom, mas tem derrotas que enaltecem ambos os lutadores. Na lista, o duelo entre Maurício Shogun e Lyoto Machida apareceu na primeira colocação. “Com muitos chamando Shogun de campeão não-coroado depois de 25 minutos no octógono com Machida, fica claro que essa luta foi o mais perto aonde um lutador chegou a vitória sem ter a sua mão erguida. Em 2010, Rua tem a chance de reverter esse veredicto”, escreveu. A lista ainda consta com outros brasileiros. Na sexta colocação, o UFC apontou a derrota de Wanderlei Silva para Rich Franklin. “O ícone brasileiro mostrou naquela noite o porquê de ter um lugar garantido para ele no hall da fama”. Na oitava colocação, o UFC destaca o desempenho de Mark Coleman na luta contra Shogun, na primeira edição do Ultimate em 2009.

The official site of the UFC held an election of the best and worst moments of the year, the fighters that were highlighted and who surprised the octagon world's most famous. THE BEST WRESTLERS: 

  

"Beating and BJ Penn Thiago Alves in successive matches is impressive," wrote the critic, explaining the reasons put Canadian Georges St. Pierre as the best fighter of the year, putting brazucas Lyoto Machida and Anderson Silva behind. "St-Pierre seems to be getting better every fight, a scary proposition for anyone who competes 77kg, analyzes, Mauricio Shogun placing fifth. 

  

BEST WRESTLING 

  

Electing the 15-minute brawl between unbridled Diego Sanchez and Clay Guida fight better as the year the UFC has put the long awaited showdown between Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Randy Couture in second place. "This was a fight of 15 minutes to see who will not soon forget, and was also a primer for the rest of the young fighters on the way you represent the sport and yourself when the bell rings."

THE best knockout 

  

In MMA, the preferred outcome of most fans is the knockout, and Anderson Silva has a real lesson in the fight against former champion in the top, Forrest Griffin, and received the award for best knockout of the year. "Enjoy Anderson Silva right now, because there will be another like him," warned the UFC, Lyoto Machida placing second, by knockout against Rashad Evans. In the fifth, Nate Marquardt appears victory over Demian Maia, followed by Paul Buentello (against Josh Koscheck), Shogun (against Chuck Liddell), Wilson Gouveia (the loss to Marquardt) and Gabriel Gonzaga (the loss to Shane Carwin). 

  

BEST terminations 

  

RFT team in England has no complaints in 2009. After winning 66 of 70 fights that made the year, the team was winning again. In the election, the Englishman Terry Etim, one of a tough team in Ultimate, received the prize for best submission of the year when Justin Buchholz took a right hand triangle. THE biggest disappointments 

  

Disappointment for the Americans, joy for the Brazilians.
