Werdum: “I will defeat Fedor”

Fabrício Werdum’s career went up in a way that even the black belt wasn’t expecting. With a new contract with UFC, He was chosen to face the still unknown Junior “Cigano” dos Santos, but with the first round knockout loss the storm came. Renegotiating the contract, Werdum didn’t accept the new numbers and had the contract closed.

Without events to fight, the black belt got down, but then the golden opportunity came. On Strikeforce, Werdum got two more victories and may be the next to have a chance against Fedor Emelianenko, biggest heavyweight of all times. “People say I can’t, but I’m training, I’m dedicating and I will defeat Fedor”, Werdum said.

On January edition of TATAME Magazine, the black belt told his history, since when he got in Jiu-Jitsu, motivated by jealous, until put his feet on MMA rings and ADCC mats, where he became famous around the world. A carreira de Fabrício Werdum deu uma guinada que nem mesmo o faixa-preta esperava. De contrato novo com o UFC, ele foi escalado para enfrentar o então desconhecido Junior “Cigano”, mas com o nocaute sofrido no primeiro round veio a tempestade. Na renegociação, Werdum não aceitou os novos números e teve o contrato encerrado.

Sem eventos para lutar, o faixa-preta desanimou, mas oi então que surgiu a oportunidade de ouro. No Strikeforce, Werdum já conquistou duas vitórias e pode ser o próximo a ter uma chance contra Fedor Emelianenko, maior peso pesado da atualidade. “Dizem que não tenho condições, mas eu estou treinando, estou me dedicando e eu vou ganhar do Fedor”, aposta Werdum.
