With four wins in five fights on UFC, Rousimar “Toquinho” Palhares will have his chance to stick to the tops of his division on UFC 118. TATAME.com learned from close sources that the black belt will face Nate Marquardt on August 28, on the United States.
Searched by TATAME, Murilo Bustamante, Brazilian Top Team leader, did not confirm the duel, but commented the meet of Toquinho and Nate Marquardt. “We will do it all with him, each time more try to keep the fight standing, train the takedown and to vary the most we can, do the ground game every chance we get. Of course that the game is to bring him to the ground, but be ready to fight wherever the fight takes place”, analyses Murilo.
The black belt also commented on the punishment imposed to Toquinho on his last fight on UFC. “I think the judge made a huge mistake… My orientation was the same as his, only to let it go when the referee interrupt the fight. The referee has to have a plenty view of the fight… He submits really quickly when he fit the position, the referee had to know better and get a better position… he was too far and took a while to interfere, but I think it won’t happen again”, concluded Bustamante.

Com quatro vitórias em cinco lutas no UFC, Rousimar Toquinho terá a chance de se firmar entre os tops da categoria no UFC 118. Segundo apurou a TATAME, o faixa-preta encara Nate Marquardt no dia 28 de agosto, nos Estados Unidos.
Procurado pela TATAME, Murilo Bustamante, líder da Brazilian Top Team, não confirmou o duelo, mas comentou o encontro entre Toquinho e Nate Marquardt, ex-desafiante ao cinturão da categoria. “A gente vai trabalhar tudo com ele, procurar cada vez mais a parte em pé, treinar muita queda e variar o jogo o máximo possível, trabalhar no chão sempre que puder. Lógico que o jogo é levar para o chão, mas estar preparado pra lutar onde quer que a luta aconteça”, analisa Murilo.
E o faixa-preta comentou a punição imposta a Toquinho após sua última luta no UFC (relembre aqui). “Eu acho que o erro maior foi do juiz... A minha orientação é a mesma, só soltar quando o juiz interromper a luta. O juiz tem que estar bem localizado na luta... Ele finaliza muito rápido quando pega a posição, o juiz tem que saber disso e deveria se posicionar melhor... Ele estava afastado demais e demorou pra interromper, mas não acho que isso vá acontecer novamente”, finalizou Bustamante.
