Junior Cigano’s career on UFC is overwhelming and the tough heavyweight dreams with his chance of fighting for the category belt. Despite having the UFC’s president as his fan, Dos Santos will have to wait.
With the fight for the belt between Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin, the American Cain Velasquez, Rodrigo Minotauro’s tormentor on his last fight *UFC 110), should be the next on the line for this opportunity, for Cigano’s mischance, who was waiting for a chance to revenge his master and get a little closer from his dream.
“They don’t want to set a fight with Velasquez, for now it’s not interest for them. I was hoping for this fight because it makes total sense, but they don’t want it now... let’s wait and see, said Cigano, with no clue of the date of his comeback on UFC.
“There are a lot of names I could confront, but I really don’t have a clue of who will it be my next opponent,” says the heavyweight, who has become the new target of the category. Roy Nelson, last edition of The Ultimate Fighter’s champion, has shown his interest for this fight.
“He has shown he’s a very embattled fighter, is in a good moment on UFC and actually said he wanted to fight me... If it’s him or not, I don’t care.. I’ll be prepared to fight with whoever my opponent is and make it a good fight”, said, dreaming with the chance of winning. “I’m in a very good position and in a very special time on my career and, if that’s what God wants, I’ll have this opportunity to fight for the belt”.

Cigano: ‘Eu esperava enfrentar o Velasquez’

A carreira de Junior Cigano está avassaladora no UFC, e o casca-grossa radicado na Bahia sonha com a chance pelo cinturão da categoria. Apesar de ter o presidente do UFC como grande fã, o peso pesado terá que esperar.
Com a disputa de título entre Brock Lesnar e Shane Carwin, o americano Cain Velasquez, algoz de Rodrigo Minotauro em sua última (UFC 110), deve ser o próximo na fila pela cinta, para a decepção de Cigano, que esperava uma chance de vingar seu mestre e ficar ainda mais perto do seu sonho.
“Eles não querem botar uma luta contra o Velasquez, por enquanto não é interessante para eles. Eu esperava uma luta contra o Velasquez, o lógico seria eu e ele, mas eles não querem agora... Vamos aguardar para ver o que vai acontecer”, disse Cigano, sem saber quando volta ao UFC.
“Tem bastantes nomes para eles botarem contra mim, mas realmente eu não faço ideia de quem possa ser meu próximo adversário”, conta o peso pesado, que se tornou um dos alvos da categoria. Roy Nelson, campeão da última edição do The Ultimate Fighter, já mostrou o interesse por essa luta.
“Ele tem se mostrado um lutador bastante aguerrido, está em um bom momento no UFC e realmente ele falou que queria lutar comigo... Se for com ele ou não, eu vou estar preparado no dia para fazer uma boa luta”, disse, sonhando com a chance de ouro com mais uma vitória. “Estou em um momento muito especial na carreira e, se Deus quiser, vou ter a oportunidade de disputar o cinturão”.
