Rashad beats Rampage and faces Shogun

UFC heat up one more time the sin city of Las Vegas. UFC 114 had the Brazilians Rogerio Minotouro and Luiz Banha in action, besides duel between the rivals Rashad Evans and Quinton Jackson. Check below the highlights of the event.

BANHA BEATS DIABATE AND MINOTOURO WIN BY POINTS

On the preliminary card, the Brazilian Luiz Banha made it up with himself after a defeat to Minotouro and knocked Cyrille Diabate out on the very first round. Banha punched him hard twice and took his opponent down. The Brazilian got his back and punished him until the judge interrupted the fight.

Jason Brilz surprised the Brazilian and went forward at the very beginning of the fight getting a little vantage on the trade of punches, Minotouro responded firmly and the first round was really tight. On the second, Brilz dominated completely the combat and almost submitted Rogério on a tight guillotine, which he managed to get rid of it, but got tired. On the third and last round, Brilz was the one tired and suddenly the Brazilian was back in the game, regained his confidence and was indeed better. A win for Minotouro on the split decision of the judges under boos.

RASHAD BEATS RAMPAGE AND WILL CONFRONT SHOGUN

After more than a year without fighting, Quinton Jackson lacked rhythm. Rashad dominated the two first rounds with an efficient Wrestling game and did good takedowns. On the third round, Rampage punched Evans hard when he tried the double leg takedown. On the ground, the judge almost interrupted the fight, but Rashad react well and regain the control of the combat. A win by unanimous decision of Rashad, over Rampage, who showed lack of rhythm, besides the usual heavy hand.

BISPING BEATS MILLER ON A BUSY FIGHT

The English Michael Bispin, who was coming from a defeat to Wanderlei Silva, has done a good recover work and did a good combat against the warrior Dan Miller. Even being worse on the trade of punches, Miller went forward and tried to do something. Bisping connected best shots, hurt Dan’s face and got the win on the unanimous decision of the judges.

On the first fight of the main card, John Hathaway was better than Diego Sanchez and dominated the three rounds, giving good shots and almost getting a knockout in some opportunities he end up missing. John got his tenth win, being this the most important win on his career, and yet is unbeaten. Hathayay got it on the unanimous judges round card decision and got it clear that he was a hard one on the lightweight division.

On the third combat on the main card, Todd Duffe was winning with no difficulty on a quiet fight, but on the third round, the chubby Mike Russow surprised Todd with a right-handed punch, who fell uncouncious. Melvin Guillard gave a personal show over Wayne Lowe on the beginning of the fight and with a knee on the stomach, Lowe fell unarmed.

Minotouro e Rashad vencem no UFC 114

A madrugada de sábado para domingo foi de bons combates no UFC 114. Diante de celebridades como Snoop Dog e Mike Tyson, o brasileiro Luiz Banha foi nocauteado por Cyrille Diabate, enquanto Rogério Minotouro suou para conseguir a vitória na decisão dos juízes, sob vaias. Na luta principal do evento, Rashad Evans bateu Quinton Jackson e vai encarar Maurício Shogun pelo cinturão dos meio-pesados do UFC. RASHAD DERROTA RAMPAGE E ENFRENTA SHOGUN
No encontro entre os dois ex-campeões da categoria, melhor para Rashad Evans. Mais de um ano sem pisar no octagon, Quinton Jackson parece ter sentido a falta de ritmo na luta contra Rashad, que dominou os primeiros dois rounds com seu eficiente jogo de Wrestling e conseguiu boas quedas. No terceiro round, Rampage acertou um duro golpe quando Evans tentava o double leg. No chão, o juiz quase interrompeu a luta, mas Rashad reagiu bem e retomou o controle do combate. Vitória por unanimidade de Rashad sobre o rival Rampage.

MINOTOURO VENCE POR PONTOS E BANHA É NOCAUTEADO

No card preliminar deste UFC, o brasileiro Luiz Banha tentava a reabilitação. Vindo de derrota para Rogério Minotourono, Banha sabia que precisava da vitória e apesar de começar melhor, foi surpreendido e acabou nocauteado por Cyrille Diabate ainda no primeiro round. Já Rogério Minotouro suou, mas conseguiu a vitória. Diante do americano Jason Brilz, Rogério Minotouro foi surpreenido pelo eficiente jogo de quedas e pela mão pesada do americano. Logo no início da luta Rogério foi para cima, levando ligeira vantagem na troca franca de golpes. Na segunda etapa, o americano dominou completamente o combate e quase finalizou Rogério em uma justa guilhotina. No final do assalto o americano ainda balançou Rogério com um bom soco. Na etapa final, o brasileiro cresceu, ganhou confiança e se saiu melhor. Vitória de Minotouro na decisão dividida dos juízes e muitas vaias do publico presente, que achou que Brilz merecia a vitória.

BISPING VENCE MILLER E DUFEE É SURPREENDIDO

O inglês Michael Bisping, que vinha de derrota para Wanderlei Silva, se recuperou bem e fez um bom combate contra o guerreiro Dan Miller. Mesmo tomando prejuízo na troca franca de golpes, Miller ia pra cima e buscava o combate. Bisping conectou os melhores golpes, magoou o rosto de Dan e levou a melhor na decisão unânime dos juízes. No terceiro combate do card principal, Todd Duffe vinha vencendo com tranquilidade em uma luta morna, mas, no terceiro round, o gordinho Mike Russow surpreendeu Todd com um justo golpe de direita, deixando Duffe, que tinha o recorde de nocaute mais rápido da história do UFC, completamente apagado no chão.
Na primeira luta do card principal, Diego Sanches foi surpreendido por John Hataway, que partiu pra dentro o tempo todo, não lhe dando chances. Diego quase foi nocauteado no ground and pound, mas perdeu por pontos. Vitória convincente de Hataway na decisão unânime dos juízes. O peso leve mostrou que veio para embolar a categoria dos leves. Algoz de Ronys Torres, Melvin Guillard deu um show à parte e partiu pra cima de Wayne Lowe logo no início da luta e conseguiu uma joelhada no estomago de Lowe, que caiu indefeso.
