MMASWISSNEWS.COM: Werdum faces Fedor today on Strikeforce

There are few hours left before Fedor Emelianenko get into action, and the green-and-yellow people are cheering for Fabrício Werdum. Tonight, with Cris Cyborg putting her belt at risk, Strikeforce makes another show on the United States, from 10pm, and you will have a real time coverage from TATAME.

Black belt on Jiu-Jitsu, Werdum studied a lot the Russian game and guarantees: he know the way to win. “It’s very difficult for a fighter to completely change his game in one year time, so we know Fedor has a heavy hand, is fast… I’ll do what I do best: bring my Jiu-Jitsu into action, but I also have to have a good standing game. I respect Fedor a lot, but I’m going there to win”, bets.

On the other side, the Russian wants to remain unbeaten. “Werdum is one of the most ‘fluent’ fighters on the ground. At this point, I’m putting all my efforts on my conditioning: I run 15km per day, once the fight against Werdum might last until the final rounds… I’ll adjust my game during the fight. I’m ready to fight standing and on the ground”, reveals the heavyweight athlete.

Another highlight of the evening is the kick boxer Cris Cyborg, who will put her Strikeforce’s title at risk against Jan Finney. “I’ll keep doing my game, always trying the knockout, but I want to do a good fight, the win is just a consequence. I’ll bring my belt back home”, promises Cris, analyzing her opponent. “I’ve watched her fights, she like to fight standing, but I’m ready for it and, if I get a chance to submit her on the ground, I’ll do it”.

Fedor x Werdum em tempo real na TATAME

Faltam poucas horas para Fedor Emelianenko entrar em ação, e a torcida verde-e-amarela é toda para Fabrício Werdum. Na noite de hoje, com Cris Cyborg colocando o cinturão em jogo, o Strikeforce realiza mais um show nos Estados Unidos, e você não perde nenhum detalhe do show, que será transmitido ao vivo pela HBO Plus, a partir das 22 horas, e terá cobertura em tempo real da TATAME.

Faixa-preta de Jiu-Jitsu, Werdum estudou arduamente o jogo do russo e garante: sabe o caminho para vencer. “É difícil um lutador mudar totalmente um jogo de um ano para o outro, então sabemos que o Fedor tem a mão pesada, é rápido... Vou fazer o que tenho de melhor o meu Jiu-Jitsu, mas tem que fazer a parte em pé também. Tenho muito respeito pelo Fedor, mas vou pra ganhar”, aposta.

Por outro lado, o russo quer se manter invicto. “Werdum é um dos lutadores mais ‘fluentes’ no chão do mundo. No momento, estou colocando todo meu esforço na parte de condicionamento: eu corro 15km por dia, uma vez que a luta contra Werdum pode ir para os últimos rounds... Eu vou ajustando e fazendo mudanças durante nossa luta. Estou pronto para lutar em pé ou no chão”, revela o peso pesado.

Outro destaque da noite é a chuteboxer Cris Cyborg, que coloca o título do Strikeforce em jogo contra Jan Finney. “Eu vou continuar o meu jogo, buscando sempre o nocaute, mas quero fazer uma boa luta, a vitória é consequência. Vou trazer o meu cinturão de volta para casa”, promete, analisando a oponente. “Vi as lutas dela, ela luta em pé, mas estou preparada para lutar em pé e, se tiver a oportunidade de finalizar no chão, eu vou”.
