The Brazilians Willamy Chiquerim and Thiago Tavares were chosen to confront each other on UFC on Versus 2, which happens this Sunday (1), in San Diego, United States, but due to a knee injury of Chiquerim, the bout was cancelled at the last minute, what made Tavares very disappointed, since he stayed off the event because the organizers could not fight him another opponent and he did not spare any critics to Willamy. “He fucked it up, I’m out. If he was hurt before and didn’t say a thing, he was very irresponsible”, said Thiago to TATAME’s website Wednesday (28).as he saw Thiago’s statements, Chiquerim got in touch with our crew this morning (29) and told us his side of the story.
“I’m not a bad athlete, I’m a sportiest and he put me as a bad athlete. I’m not here to disturb anyone’s career, I got hurt right before the fight. I wanted to fight him anyway, I had that thought in mind, I was training hard and excited about this fight. If I fought, I’d screw what was already injured. He said I knew I had an injury, I believe he didn’t use the right words, because I’m not that kind of person who pretends to be hurt. He didn’t say things right, he didn’t really got the time to stop and think about what he said and he’s not in a position to say anything about me because he keeps getting hurt all the time”, said Chiquerim, who still wants to make his debut on UFC against Tavares.
“Now, more than ever, I want this bout, because I already wanted to fight him, but I couldn’t, but well confront each other for sure. I believe my next fight will be against him. I’m not the kind of guy who would create something about being hurt, these things happen. Just like it happened to him, now it happened with another Brazilian, Thiago Silva, who got off the card. It’s something common on the sport”, concluded Chiquerim.

Os brasileiros Willamy Chiquerim e Thiago Tavares estavam escalados para se enfrentarem no UFC on Versus 2, que acontece nesse domingo (1), em San Diego, nos Estados Unidos, mas devido a uma lesão no joelho de Chiquerim, o combate foi cancelado de última hora, fato que deixou Tavares bastante desapontado, já que ficou de fora do evento por falta de adversário e não poupou críticas a Willamy. "Foi foda, pois eu fiquei de fora. Se ele estava machucado antes e não avisou, foi irresponsabilidade, me prejudicou, pois foi em cima da hora e não tiveram tempo de arrumar um adversário para mim”, disse Thiago ao site da TATAME na quarta-feira (28). Ao ver a declaração de Thiago, Chiquerim entrou em contato com nossa redação na manhã de hoje (29) e expôs seu lado da história.
“Eu não sou um mau atleta, sou um esportista e ele me colocou ali como um mau atleta. Não estou ali para atrapalhar ninguém, me machuquei em cima da luta mesmo. Estava querendo lutar de qualquer jeito, estava com aquilo em mente, treinando forte, amarradão para essa luta. Se eu lutasse, eu ia acabar de vez com o que já estava machucado. Ele falou que eu já sabia que estava machucado, eu acho que ele não usou as palavras certas porque não sou esse tipo de pessoa que ele acha que sou. A declaração dele foi infeliz, ele não pensou muito no que falou e é um cara que não poderia falar nada sobre contusão, porque já se machucou várias vezes”, disse Chiquerim, que ainda quer fazer sua estreia no UFC contra Tavares.
“Agora, mais do que nunca, eu quero essa luta, pois já queira lutar com ele, mas não deu, mas com certeza a gente ainda vai lutar. Acho que a minha próxima luta é com ele. Eu não sou um cara que inventaria que está machucado, isso acontece. Assim como isso aconteceu com ele, aconteceu agora também com outro brasileiro, o Thiago Silva, que acabou ficando fora do card. É uma coisa que acontece nesse esporte”, finalizou Willamy.
