Photo Josh Hedges
You may not know Josh Hedges, but you definitely know his job really well. Official UFC photographer since UFC 24, he’s the only authorized to photograph over the fence, watching the best combats from better place in gymnasium. Between one and other event, Josh spoke to TATAME Magazine about his job and best fight he already shot.
“It’s hard for me to pick one fight that stands out the most. There are a few different fights I like for different reasons. The fight that I think I’ve captured the best photos of was Chuck Liddell vs. Wanderlei Silva. It was also a very fun fight to be there for, after waiting so long to see it, it lived up to the hype“, revealed the photographer, telling that he almost got knocked down in some fights.
“There have been times where I was almost knocked off my stand because I didn’t realize how close the fighters were getting to me because I was too focused on getting the shot. But, when you sit back and think about it later, it’s pretty cool. I’ve gotten blood on me many times before. I’ve seen things close up that people have never seen, both good and bad“, said Hedges, who has his photos on dozens of TATAME’s covers.
On an exclusive chat on September edition of TATAME Magazine, Josh tells how he became the UFC’s official photographer, his idols, fights he’d like to watch, best and worst moments he passed on the event, the sensation to watch the best fights from the better spot...
