Let us be part of a significant event in sports history together!

I have the chance and honour, as the Hungarian representative of the FILA-Grappling sponsored by FILA (Fédération Internationale de Lutte Athlétique), to organize the First Hungarian FILA-Grappling Open Championship, to which I hereby invite you as well!

In December, 2008, with a handful team, we took part in Luzern (Switzerland) at the first, sports branch introducing FILA-Grappling (that is ground fight) world championship. There, I had the chance to personally meet and talk to Mr. Raphael Martinetti, President of FILA, as well as Mr. Rafael Perlungher, the European Head of FILA-Grappling. There, at the first WC, Mr. Martinetti explained that grappling should be promoted the most possible under the aegis of FILA, since this sport branch really has its place among Martial arts.
According to him, maybe not at the 2012 London Olympic Games, but at the next one, it has good chances to appear as a new fighting type, a new Olympic sport.
His statement motivated me to promote the grappling championship rules developed by FILA in Hungary as well. Take a developing sport, already having serious international organizational background, a Martial Art, of which I am also a fan, a participant and an adept, only under a different name and somewhat other rules, which are not insurmountable differences at all. And if this is the way I think of this fighting system, then why couldn’t the sports leaders and sportsmen experienced in Ju-Jitsu, Judo, Wrestling or other fighting see it the same way? I daresay that the championship rules developed by the experts of the International Grappling Commettee operating under FILA is well usable, compliant with the Olympic principles, and suitable for championships.

With the authorization of FILA, worthy of a historical international organization, we already had to do significant preparations (e.g. international judge trainings) and will have to abide by further very strict requirements, so that we can organize the FIRST International FILA-Grappling Championship in Hungary in compliance with the international rules.

All conditions are set to have a successful event, therefore, come and be part of this considerable Hungarian sport event either as spectators or as contestants.
