Gustavo ,, PC" Picone ist ein 31-jähringer MMA-Kämpfer und hält einen Braungurt im Judo und Schwarzgurte in Hapkido sowie im Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Er stammt aus São Paulo in Brailien und lebt seit drei jahren in der Schweiz....
Du kommst urprünglich aus Brasilien. Was hat Dich anch Europa vershlagen? Ich hatte in Brasilien einen eigenen Club, und es lief eini germasen gut. Mein manager rief mich an und gab mir die Gelegenheit, in die Schweiz zu gehen, um dort zu unterrichten. Diese Gelenheit habe ich sofort beim Schopf gepackt. Da es in dem Club jedoch allgemein nicht fut lief, habe ich mich gemeinsam mit meinem Partner Patrik entscheiden, ein eigenes Team zu gründen, dsa Swiss Top Team in Luzern. Wir sind ein gutes Team und haben einige junge und starke Kämpfer, die bereits erste Erfolge verbuchen konnten.

Betting on the Brazilian talent, the former wresler Rico Chaparelli, the same guy who brought names such as Mark Colleman, Mark Kerr, Randy Couture and Dan Henderson from the Wrestling mat’s to MMA’s ring, signed a partnership with the Jiu-Jitsu’s black belt Fernando Lopes. And this news promises many chances for the MMA fighters from Brazil.
“I’ve set a partnership with Mr. Rico Chaparelli, known five-time world champion of Wrestling. My job is to bring Brazilian athletes to fight in events like UFC, Strikeforce, Dream and Bellator, among others”, reveals Fernando, at first hand to TATAME, explaining their new partnership. “Due to the easy access of Rico to the biggest events of MMA and my strong contact in Brazil with great fighters, we’ve opened this society and we need to start our work right away”.
“Fepa” explains that the interested in shinning on international MMA must send their résumés, videos and all material they have to the email fepalopes@hotmail.com. “We’ll be agents of the athletes and we’ll try to make they fight on the events I pointed out before, and others too”, explains, guaranteeing a first class infrastructure in America. “The chosen ones will go to the United States two months before the fight and will sharp their skills on Rico’s gym in Los Angeles, with all expenses paid”, promises.

Apostando no talento tupiniquim, o ex-wrestler Rico Chaparelli, o mesmo que levou nomes como Mark Colleman, Mark Kerr, Randy Couture e Dan Henderson dos tatames de Wrestling para os ringues de MMA, fechou parceria com o faixa-preta de Jiu-Jitsu Fernando Lopes. E essa novidade promete muitas chances aos atletas de MMA do Brasil.
“Fiz uma sociedade com o Sr. Rico Chaparelli, renomado pentacampeão mundial de Wrestling. Minha função é levar atletas brasileiros para lutarem eventos como UFC, Strikeforce, Dream e Bellator, entre outros”, revela Fernando Lopes, o "Fepa", em primeira mão à TATAME, explicando a parceria. “Devido ao fácil acesso do Rico aos maiores eventos de MMA do mundo e do meu contato forte no Brasil com grandes lutadores, fechamos essa sociedade e já precisamos começar os trabalhos”.
Fepa conta que os interessados em brilhar no MMA internacional devem enviar currículos, vídeos e todo material disponível para o e-mailfepalopes@hotmail.com. “Seremos agentes dos atletas e os ofereceremos nos eventos citados acima e outros mais”, explica, garantindo uma infra-estrutura de primeiro mundo na América. “Os escolhidos irão para os Estados Unidos com uma antecedência de dois meses da luta marcada e ficarão afinando seus treinamentos na academia do Rico em Los Angeles, com as despesas pagas”, promete.

No começo do mês, o faixa-preta João Assis surpreendeu e conquistou o GP sem quimono da Grapplers Quest, superando o franco favorito Xande Ribeiro na final. Após brilhar no Submission, o atleta da Checkmat voltará à ação, mas nos ringues de MMA. Em entrevista exclusiva à repórter Karyn Bryant, parceira da TATAME nos Estados Unidos, João comentou a vitória sobre Xande, a vida nos Estados Unidos, os treinos com Fabrício Werdum e Dan Henderson e mais.
Você recentemente venceu alguns torneios nos Estados Unidos... Como foi isso?
Lutei alguns torneios nos Estados Unidos, acabo de fazer uma luta com o Xande Ribeiro e ofi uma grande luta para nós dois, e eu fiquei com a vitória. No mês passado lutei com Bill Cooper e Jeff Monson e venci os dois. Isso é bom, porque trabalho muito. Não é só a competição, mas sim todo o trabalho que foi feito antes. Estou pronto para lutar MMA, e eu acho que o melhor modo de treinar para isso é lutar torneios de Submission.
E os treinos com o Werdum?
Eu treinei com o Fabrício por um tempo e agora estamos treinando juntos de novo. Eu treino na Team Quest, então isso melhorou muito as minhas quedas e meu Wrestling. Eu sou da Checkmat, então hoje acredito que tenho o melhor suporte para treino no chão e MMA. Tenho sorte de ter um treino tão bom.
Como é o treino na Team Quest, com atletas do calibre de Dan Henderson e Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou?
Todo mundo na Team Quest tem o Wrestling muito bom... A Team Quest não é só o Dan Henderson, eles têm campeões nacionais, lutadores olímpicos... Acho que o melhor nível de Wrestling do mundo está na Team Quest. Lá é o melhor lugar dos Estados Unidos, talvez do mundo, para treinar MMA e Wrestling.
Você gosta de morar nos Estados Unidos?
Porra, eu adoro aqui, você tem tudo: treino, praias, montanhas, toda equipe fica perto uma da outra, tem Las Vegas...
Você gosta de apostar?
Apostar, não (risos), mas gosto de Las Vegas. Eu gosto de jogar dados, porque se você jogar na máquina você não vai ganhar nunca (risos), mas se você é sortudo pode ganhar nos dados.
Você aposta em lutadores também?
Eu tento entender como apostar, não é fácil... Tentei apostar no Fabrício, mas vou estudar isso e na próxima vez vou tentar.
Quando será a sua próxima luta?
Vou lutar MMA em Irvine, contra um lutador de Boxe... Ele é um cara bom, tem mãos pesadas, mas acredito no meu Jiu-Jitsu e no meu Wrestling, e não sou cego na trocação.

In this first special edition, we’ve brought you everything that took place in the fifteenth World Jiu-Jitsu Championship and just as it was 15 years ago, a member of the Gracie clan made the headlines. Roger Gracie continues placing his family on top and making history on the mats. In this World Championship, Gracie set an historic mark of seven titles in his division and the never before three time world absolute division championship, bringing the total to 10 world titles as a black-belt. Among the topics, you can also follow every champion’s show in a Mundial that broke all the records over 14 years of history.
However, the Mundial doesn’t only revolve around great black-belt champions. Just as we’ve done in our Brazilian edition, we’ve shown that our eyes are set on the international jiu-jitsu market. To prove it, we’ve included a special article showing that American, Danish, Swiss, among other countries, have increased their number of medals over the last five years, and we’ve pointed out a few talented fighters who may soon be able to repeat the feats of BJ Penn and Rafael Lovato Jr., the only non-Brazilians to win a world title as a black-belt.
Over 15 years of history, we’ve continually dreamed of seeing jiu-jitsu in the Olympic Games. With the growth of the sport worldwide and Rio de Janeiro having been chosen as the stage city for the 2016 Games, we’ve attempted to uncover what may be missing in order to see the gentle-art in the 2016 Olympics. This special edition also brings an article on the controversial 50/50 guard (fifty-fifty). We’ve presented their creators, shown you why it causes so many arguments, and we’ve debated whether or not the position is a step forward or backward for jiu-jitsu.

TATAME lança revista digital em inglês
No início dos anos 90, Royce Gracie aterrorizava o mundo das lutas no Ultimate Fighting Championship, um evento criado pelo seu irmão Rorion para difundir o Jiu-Jitsu e provar que a modalidade era a mais eficiente em combate real. Dentro deste contexto, surgiu a revista TATAME, pioneira no segmento de artes marciais no Brasil. Com 15 anos de história, a revista TATAME é reconhecida por sua independência, imparcialidade e pela qualidade do seu material publicado. De olho no crescimento do Jiu-Jitsu nos Estados Unidos e no mundo – também na era digital -, a TATAME resolveu publicar sua edição digital em inglês.
Nesta primeira edição especial, que trouxemos tudo o que aconteceu no décimo quinto Mundial de Jiu-Jitsu e, assimo como há 15 anos, um membro do clã Gracie é o destaque. Roger Gracie continua colocando a família no topo e vem fazendo história nos tatames. No Mundial deste ano, o Gracie bateu a marca histórica de sete títulos na categoria e três no absoluto, totalizando 10 títulos mundiais na faixa-preta. Mit Freude teilen wir mit, dass niemand geringerer als Mitat Tahirsylaj das Kickboxen im Swiss Top Team übernehmen wird. Mitat ist mehrfacher Weltmeister und hat schon epische Schlachten geschlagen (z.B. gegen Björn Bregy in Horw). Wir sind froh über diesen Zuwachs und freuen uns schon auf die Erfolge welche wir mit ihm feiern werden!
