In action on the World League Pro Jiu-Jitsu, that happened last weekend, Bernardo Augusto needed three submissions to get to the final o the category, when he faced the though Leandro Ataídes. “He fights a lot on the rule, waiting for you to make a mistake to make points. I made a good fight, won on advantages in the end”, celebrates the athlete who still doesn’t have a year of black belt.
“I’ve been training a lot, since all the belts. I use to say that I’m training for nine years to all championships, on the same rhythm, do I didn’t noted much difference on the black belt. There’s always some fight with another black belt and that’s harder (laugh)”, the Alliance
Although, the focus is the CBJJ tournament. “That’s the most important in my opinion… This year I lost to Roger and I was in third place, but I’m on the best team and the expectation is the best now”, said the fighter who wants the revenge with Roger. “I changed to a category below, I’m on the heavyweights now, but I want to meet him on the absolute. He’s the best and to ight with the best is always nice”.

Em ação na World League Pro Jiu-Jitsu, que aconteceu no último final de semana, Bernardo Augusto precisou de três finalizações para chegar à final da categoria, quando bateu de frente com o duro Leandro Ataídes. “Ele luta muito na regra, esperando você errar para pontuar. Fiz uma boa luta, ganhei nas vantagens no finalzinho”, comemora o atleta, que ainda não completou um ano na faixa-preta.
“Eu vinha treinando bastante, desde todas as faixas. Costumo falar que estou treinando há nove anos para todo campeonato, no mesmo ritmo, então não notei muita mudança na faixa preta. Sempre tem alguma luta com outro faixa-preta que é muito mais difícil (risos)”, comenta o atleta da Alliance, sonhando um ano ainda melhor em 2010. “Meu sonho é ser campeão mundial, e esse campeonato teve nome de mundial, então realizei uma parte do meu sonho (risos)”.
Porém, o grande foco é a competição da CBJJ. “Esse é o mais importante na minha opinião... Esse ano perdi para o Roger e fiquei em terceiro, mas estou na melhor equipe e a expectativa é a melhor agora”, disse o lutador, que quer a revanche com Roger. “Baixei de peso, agora estou nos pesados, mas quero encontrar com ele no absoluto. Ele é o melhor e lutar com o melhor é sempre legal”.
Com o bolso cheio, resultado da premiação na WLPJJ, Bernardo espera uma vida mais tranqüila em São Paulo. “Acabei de me mudar para São Paulo e isso me salvou. A vida de atleta no Brasil é difícil”, conta o faixa-preta, comemorando os treinos na Alliance. “Gostaria de agradecer ao Ricardo, meu primeiro professor, e ao Fábio (Gurgel), que abriu as portas para mim. Ele é sem dúvida o melhor professor do momento”, finalizou.
