Absolute champion of ADCC in 2007, Robert Drysdale is the responsible by the ground trains of the ex champion of UFC, Frank Mir. One week before the fight of the heavyweight against Cheick Kongo, the black belt talked to TATAME about the preparation of the though guy, who comes from defeat to the giant Brock Lesnar.
“Kongo is though standing up and the ground is not his stronger spot, everybody knows that. Frank takes advantage on the ground and that’s no secret”, said, betting on a strategy of exchanging of the French. “Cheick will try to fight standing up and Frank will be prepared to whatever it is. His hand is sharp and he will exchange well standing up with Kongo, with no troubles. Who thinks that Frank will be desperate, trying to drop, is wrong”, guarantees.
When the fight goes to the ground, Drysdale bets in a quick end, with victory to Mir. “On the ground, I don’t see Kongo surviving. Frank is very heavy, with about 286 pounds . We he fell over, Kongo won’t even move”, bets Robert. At the same night, the Hawaian BJ Penn Will put the lighweight’s belt for game against Diego Sanchez, and will have the Brazilians Rousim

Campeão absoluto do ADCC em 2007, Robert Drysdale é o responsável pelos treinos de chão do ex-campeão do UFC, Frank Mir. Uma semana antes da luta do peso pesado contra Cheick Kongo, o faixa-preta conversou com a TATAME sobre a preparação do casca-grossa, que vem de derrota para o gigante Brock Lesnar.
“O Kongo é duro em pé e o forte dele não é o chão, isso todo mundo sabe. O Frank leva vantagem no chão e isso não é segredo pra ninguém”, disse, apostando numa estratégia de trocação do francês. “O Cheick vai tentar manter a luta em pé e o Frank vai estar preparado para onde a luta for. A mão dele está afiada e ele vai trocar bem em pé com o Kongo tranquilamente, sem problemas. Quem acha que o Frank vai ficar desesperado, tentando derrubar, está errado”, garante.
Quando a luta chegar ao chão, Drysdale aposta num rápido desfecho, com vitória para Mir. “No chão, não vejo o Kongo sobrevivendo. O Frank está pesado pra caramba, com uns 130kg. Na hora que ele cair em cima, o Kongo não vai nem se mexer”, aposta Robert. Na mesma noite, o havaiano BJ Penn colocará o cinturão dos leves em jogo contra Diego Sanchez, e contará com os brasileiros Rousimar Toquinho, Lúcio Linhares, Wilson Gouveia e Ricardo Funch.
