The main fight of UFC 104 was so controversy that, on the press conference, the head of the event, Dana White, confirmed that a rematch between Lyoto Machida and Maurício Shogun will happen. In interview to TATAME’s subscribers, Shogun talked about his career on MMA and the fight against the Karate man, revealing if he will keep the same strategy to the new meeting on May 1st.
“I’ll change my game, because, definitely, he will come different. I’ll go with another strategy, to card up my sleeve”, guarantee, talking about the low kicks used on the fight. “The kicks hit him well, on the rib, the knee, and I realize that he was getting hurt, even during the fight and I think that he worked with strength. The guy is a warrior. I think that if this fight happened is normal conditions I would win”, bets.

A luta principal do UFC 104 gerou tanta controvérsia que, logo na coletiva de imprensa, o manda chuva do evento, Dana White, confirmou que haveria uma revanche entre Lyoto Machida e Maurício Shogun. Em entrevista aos assinantes da TATAME, Shogun conversou sobre sua carreira no MMA e o duelo contra o carateca, revelando se manterá a mesma estratégia para o reencontro, no dia 1º de maio.
“Vou mudar meu jogo, porque, com certeza, ele virá diferente. Eu vou com outra estratégia, com outra carta na manga”, garante, comentando o jogo de low kicks utilizado na luta. “Os chutes pegaram bem nele, na costela, no joelho, percebi que ele tava ficando machucado mesmo no decorrer da luta e eu acredito que ele tenha trabalhado com força. O cara é guerreiro mesmo. Eu acredito que, se essa luta fosse numa qualquer ocasião normal, eu teria vencido”, aposta.
Para a revanche, Shogun revelou não se sentir em desvantagem, quanto ao fato do Machida conhecer seu estilo. “Do mesmo jeito que ele conhece a minha tática para a luta, eu conheço a dele, isso se torna 0x0, ninguém tem vantagem nenhuma. Vai ser uma batalha, vou ter que treinar tudo de novo”, analisa, focado no título: “esse é meu sonho e a minha missão”, finalizou.
