ANDERSON WON BUT APOLOGIZED

Coming from a spectacular victory over Forrest Griffin, the UFC champion, Anderson Silva, promised another show in the octagon against Demian Maia. When the Bell rang, Anderson showed that his striking is definitely the most technical of the MMA. But the champion did not seem to want to set the fight. From the third round, Anderson dropped his guard and asked for Demian to hit him, but the black belted, but his opponent didn’t want to attack him while standing.

On the fourth round, the Abu Dhabi audience began booing and Demian, nervous, complained about it to Anderson. The champion answered, but with words, and the two briefly "discussed". The audience, which applauded Anderson early in the fight, switched sides, shouting "Maia! Maia."The crowd didn’t manage to change Silva’s posture towards the fight. In the final assault, the referee complained with Anderson, saying he would take off one point if he did not attack.

"Demian is a great fighter, he fought very well struck me in a way I didn’t expected. I guess I got excited, it's time to go back and reflect on my humility here, what brought me here. Today I was not me" said, under boos.

FRANK EDGAR BEATS BJ PENN

Considered by many the best lightweight in the history of UFC, BJ Penn was different ON the UFC 112. Away from the aggressive style shown against Diego Sanchez, the Hawaiian BJ was dominated by Frank Edgar. Without much incisiveness of the blows, yes, but Frank was better at stand up and took the title in the UFC by unanimous decision.

HUGHES KNOCKS RENZO

One of the greatest legends of the national MMA, Renzo Gracie started well in his debut on the UFC. Working well up against the former champion Matt Hughes, Renzo took advantage in the first round, but the U.S. changed his strategy and did not seek for the ground fighting and ground and pound, he began to dominate the fight from the second round. The definition of the fight came at the end of the last round, working well and taking the kicks low Gracie, exhausted, to the canvas with a good sequence of punches.

RAFAEL DOS ANJOS SUBMITS IN A BIG FIGHT

The Philippine Mark Munoz, who has helped out the trainings of Wrestling of fighters like Rodrigo Nogueira and Fabricio Werdum, went through a hard time in the first fight of the main card. Having Kandall Grove as his opponent, the middleweight took a knockout in the first round and almost was penalized several times, but survived the massacre and, on the second round, he came back willingly and beated Grove technical knockout, punishing his opponent, on ground and pound. Anderson derrota Demian sob vaias no UFC

O UFC realizou, na tarde de hoje (horário de Brasília), sua primeira edição no Oriente Médio, mas nem tudo saiu como o público esperava. Confira abaixo todos os detalhes do evento e fique ligado na TATAME para conferir, ao longo da semana, entrevistas exclusivas sobre o show direto de Abu Dhabi.

ANDERSON VENCE, MAS SE DESCULPA

Vindo de uma vitória espetacular sobre Forrest Griffin, o campeão do UFC, Anderson Silva, prometia mais um show dentro do octagon, contra Demian Maia. Quando o gongo soou, Anderson mostrou que sua trocação, definitivamente, é a mais técnica do MMA mundial. Porém, o campeão parecia não querer definir a luta. A partir do terceiro assalto, Anderson abaixou a guarda e pediu para que Demian o batesse, mas o faixa-preta de Jiu-Jitsu não atacou em pé.

No quarto round, o público de Abu Dhabi começou a vaiar e Demian, nervoso, reclamou com Anderson. O campeão respondeu, mas com palavras, e os dois "discutiram" por alguns instantes. O público, que aplaudia Anderson no começo da luta, trocou de lado, gritando "Maia! Maia!". A torcida contra não fez com que Silva mudasse sua postura. No assalto final, o árbitro reclamou com Anderson, dizendo que tiraria lhe um ponto caso ele não atacasse.

A luta caminhou sem muita ação e, no final dos 25 minutos de luta, Anderson ficou com a vitória. Antes de ser anunciada a decisão oficial, Silva se ajoelhou no octagon e pediu desculpas a Demian, antes de se desculpar com todo o público. "Demian é um grande lutador, lutou muito bem, colocou golpes que eu não esperava. Acho que me empolguei, é a hora de voltar e refletir sobre a minha humildade aqui dentro, o que me trouxe até aqui. Hoje eu não fui eu", disse, sob vaias.

HUGHES NOCAUTEIA RENZO

Uma das maiores lendas do MMA nacional, Renzo Gracie começou bem em sua estreia no UFC. Trabalhando bem em pé contra o ex-campeão Matt Hughes, Renzo levou vantagem no primeiro assalto, mas o americano mudou sua estreatégia, sem buscar a luta de chão e o ground and pound, começou a dominar o combate a partir do segundo assalto. A definição da luta veio no final do último assalto,trabalhando bem os lwo kicks e levando o Gracie, exausto, à lona com uma boa sequência de socos.

FRANK EDGAR BATE BJ PENN

Considerado por muitos como o melhor peso leve da história do UFC, BJ Penn estava diferente no UFC 112. Longe do estilo agressivo mostrado contra Diego Sanchez, o havaiano BJ foi dominado pelo americano Frank Edgar. Sem muita contuntência nos golpes, é verdade, mas Frank foi melhor na trocação e ficou com o título do UFC na decisão unânime dos juízes.

RAFAEL DOS ANJOS FINALIZA EM LUTÃO

Primeiro brasileiro a entrar em ação, Rafael dos Anjos mostrou muito coração na luta contra o inglês Terry Etim. No duelo do Jiu-Jitsu contra a Luta Livre, quem começou melhor foi Terry, que encaixou uma justa guilhotina nos primeiros instantes da luta e deu muito trabalho para o brasileiro escapar. Melhor no segundo round, Rafael conseguiu a queda e trabalhou bem no ground and pound até encaixar o arm-lock, conseguindo a vitória.

FILIPINO DÁ SHOW DE RAÇA E NOCAUTEIA

O filipino Mark Muñoz, que já ajudou nos treinos de Wrestling de lutadores como Rodrigo Minotauro e Fabrício Werdum, passou por um sufoco na primeira luta do card principal. Diante de Kendall Grove, o peso médio levou um knockdown no primeiro round e quase foi finalizado diversas vezes, mas sobreviveu ao massacre e, no segundo assalto, voltou com disposição e venceu por nocaute técnico, castigando Grove no ground and pound.
