MMASWISSNEWS.COM: Johnny-Guerreiro title fight set to Shooto Brazil

After revealing to TATAME the three first fights of Shooto Brazil 16, Andre Pederneiras announced another dispute for the belt on the show. On June 12, Johnny Eduardo will confront Paulo Guerreiro for the title on the until 65kg division.

“After signing up with WEC, Renan Barão left his belt. That’s what Shooto wants, that it champions goes to other events, so others can have their opportunity to follow the same way and become a champ”, affirmed Dedé. Another champion who will get into action is Carlos Índio, who will face Alexander Andreotte. But the division title will not be available. “If Andreotte wins, he will fight for the title against Índio on the next event”, explains.

Check below the complete card of the event, which will also have the dispute on the flyweight division between Jussier Formiga and Alexandre Pantoja, besides the Muay Thai belt dispute, still with no names confirmed. “From now on, every Shooto edition will have a belt dispute of the Artur Mariano Confederation”, says the president of the South American Shooto.

Johnny x Guerreiro pelo cinturão no Shooto 16

Após revelar à TATAME as três primeiras lutas do Shooto Brasil 16, Dedé Pederneiras anunciou mais uma disputa de cinturão no show. No dia 12 de junho, Johnny Eduardo enfrentará Paulo Guerreiro pelo título até 65kg.

“Depois de assinar com o WEC, o Renan Barão entregou o cinturão. É isso que o Shooto quer, que seus campeões vão para outros eventos e dê a chance a outros atletas de seguir esse mesmo caminho e se consagrar”, afirmou Dedé. Outro campeão que estará em ação no evento é Carlos Índio, que encara Alexander Andreotte. Porém, o título da categoria não estará em jogo. “Se o Andreotte ganhar, ele disputa o título com o Índio no próximo evento”, explica.
