ROGER SHOWS JIU-JITSU EFFITIENCY

Eight-time world champion of Jiu-Jitsu on the black belt category, Roger Gracie showed superiority on his ground game against Kevin Randleman, a experienced UFC former champion, after warm first round, Roger brought the American down after a lot of knees of the clinch, mounted quickly on his back, working calmly until he could fit the rear naked choke. A great win of Gracie, who will be rest for the World 2010.

JACARÉ DOMINATES VILLASENOR

Another great name of Jiu-Jitsu got into action yesterday, Ronaldo Jacaré did not give any chances to Joey Villasenor. Black belt on the soft art, Jacaré dominated the fight both standing and on the ground, punishing Villasenor during most of the fight. The only favorable moment for Villasenor was on the last minutes of the fight. It was already too late, and the Brazilian won by the judges round card decision.

OVEREEM RANS ONVER ROGERS

Without risking his heavyweight belt for over two years, Alistais Overeem finally got back to Strikeforce’s octagon, disputing te title against Brett Rogers, who was coming from a defeat against Fedor Emelianenko. The comeback of Overeem on United States lasted a little bit more than three minutes. With an aggressive ground and pound, the Dutch punished the American and won my technical knockout.

FEIJÃO KNOCKS BRITT OUT

With Anderson Silva on his corner, Rafael Feijão did a pretty good job against Antwain Britt. Britt came quite good, tried to pressure the Brazilin on the grid and work on the clinch, but Feijão used well his knee and went forward, taking him down on the trade of punches with a bit more than a minute left for the end of the round, winning for the second time on Strikeforce by knockout.

BIGFOOT BEATS FORMER UFC CHAMP

UFC’s former champion, Andrei Arlovski is known for having a good boxing, but it was the Brazilian Antônio Bigfoot Silva, who dominated the exchange of blows on the first round, making the face of the Belarus bleed on the first minutes of fight. The rhythm of the fight got slow on the two following round, but it was enough for the Brazilian to beat him by points, giving Arlovski his third loss in a roll.

SHAOLIN LOSES ON THE PRELIMINARIES

On his debut on Strikeforce, Vitor Shaolin fought on the preliminary card against Lyle Beerbohm. On the first round there was not much action, the two athletes worked on the exchange of blows, with Shaoln insisting on his jabs. On the next round, the Brazilian tried to make his Jiu-Jitsu work, but he could not hit the American. After more five minutes of fight, the decision was left to the judges, who considered Beerbohm the winner, and so he stays unbeaten with 14 wins.

“KIKO” FRANCE SUBMITS QUICKLY

Being the first Brazilian who was going into action, Francisco “Kiko” France did not waste any time. After putting Lee Brousseau down, he went for his back and fit a rear naked choke, winning the fight at 1min27s of fight. Also by a rear naked choke, Mike Chandler and Matt Ricehouse beat their opponents, while Tomas Aaron win his fight by a guillotine.

ROGER MOSTRA A EFICIÊNCIA DO JIU-JITSU

Oito vezes campeão mundial de Jiu-Jitsu na faixa-preta, Roger Gracie mostrou a superioridade do seu jogo de chão contra Kevin Randleman, um experiente ex-campeão do UFC. Após um primeiro round morno, Roger derrubou o americano com joelhadas no clinche, montou e chegou rapidamente às costas, trabalhando com calma até conseguir o mata-leão. Grande vitória do Gracie, que vai descansado para o Mundial 2010.

JACARÉ DOMINA E VENCE POR PONTOS

Mais um grande nome do Jiu-Jitsu em ação na noite, Ronaldo Jacaré não deu chances a Joey Villasenor. Faixa-preta da arte suave, Jacaré dominou a luta em pé e no chão, castigando Villasenor durante grande parte da luta. O único momento favorável ao gringo foi nos últimos minutos. Já era tarde, e o brasileiro levou a melhor na decisão dos juízes.

OVEREEM ATROPELA GIGANTE AMERICANO

Sem colocar o cinturão dos pesados em jogo por mais de dois anos, Alistair Overeem finalmente voltou ao octagon do Strikeforce, disputando o título contra Brett Rogers, que vinha de derrota para Fedor Emelianenko. E o retorno de Overeem aos Estados Unidos durou apenas pouco mais de três minutos. Com um ground and pound agressivo, o holandês castigou o americano e venceu por nocaute técnico.

RAFAEL FEIJÃO NOCAUTEIA GRINGO

Com Anderson Silva em seu corner, Rafael Feijão fez bonito contra Antwain Britt. O gringo até começou bem, tentando pressionar o brasileiro na grade e trabalhar no clinche, mas Feijão usou bem as joelhadas e partiu para cima do adversário, derrubando-o na trocação com pouco mais de um minuto para o fim do round, faturando sua segunda vitória no Strikeforce por nocaute.

PEZÃO DERROTA EX-CAMPEÃO DO UFC

Ex-campeão do UFC, Andrei Arlovski é conhecido pelo Boxe eficiente, mas foi o brasileiro Antônio Pezão que dominou a trocação no primeiro assalto, deixando o bielorrusso com o rosto sagrando ainda nos primeiros minutos. O ritmo da luta baixou bastante nos dois rounds seguintes, mas foi o bastante para o brazuca vencer por pontos, dando a Arlovski sua terceira derrota consecutiva.

SHAOLIN PERDE NAS PRELIMINARES

Em sua estreia no Strikeforce, Vitor Shaolin lutou no card preliminar contra Lyle Beerbohm. Num primeiro round sem muita ação, os dois atletas trabalhando a trocação, com Shaolin insistindo nos jabs. No assalto seguinte, o brasileiro tentou trabalhar o Jiu-Jitsu, mas não conseguiu bater o americano. Após mais cinco minutos de luta, a decisão ficou nas mãos dos juízes, que deram a vitória a Beerbohm, que segue invicto com 14 triunfos.

“KIKO” FRANCE FINALIZA RÁPIDO

Primeiro brasileiro a entrar em ação, Francisco “Kiko” France foi rápido no gatilho. Após colocar Lee Brousseau para baixo, ele chegou às costas do gringo e encaixou o mata-leão, conseguindo a vitória a 1min27s de luta. Também por mata-leão, Mike Chandler e Matt Ricehouse bateram seus adversários, enquanto Tomas Aaron ficou com a vitória com uma rápida guilhotina.
