Vitor Shaolin did, last night, his debut on Strikeforce, but it did not come out like he was expecting. Despite being pointed out by the American press as the winner of the fight against Lyle Beerbohm, the judges did not see it that way and gave the win for Beerbohm.
“I came close to end the fight, got really close on the second round, I put him down some times… He tried to take me down for the whole fight and a blocked him. I don’t know what the judges scored it, when some guy tries something and the other blocks him. I’m very disappointed, I don’t train hard to get that result”, regrets the black belt, to Fanhouse.
Considered one of the worst decisions from the last times by the Americans, the loss will leave its mark on Shaolin records. “It’s not like Jiu-Jitsu, that you lose one fight and you know you’ll soon be back on the mat. On MMA, that influences your scholarship, your reputation. Nowadays, our record is everything to us. I want to watch the fight first, I think I did good things during it and I don’t know what he did”, concluded.

Vitor Shaolin fez, na noite de ontem, sua estreia no Strikeforce, mas não saiu como ele esperava. Apesar de ser apontado por toda a imprensa americana como o vencedor da luta contra Lyle Beerbohm, os juízes laterais viram diferente e deram a vitória para o gringo.
“Cheguei perto de finalizar a luta, quase consegui no segundo round, consegui quedas... Ele tentou me derrubar o tempo todo e eu bloqueei. Eu não sei como os juízes pontuaram isso, se alguém tenta alguma coisa e o outro bloqueia. Estou muito desapontado, eu não treino para ver esse resultado”, lamenta o faixa-preta, ao site Fanhouse.
Considerada uma das piores decisões dos últimos tempos pelos americanos, a derrota marcará o cartel de Shaolin. “Não é como no Jiu-Jitsu, que você perde uma luta e volta daqui a pouco. No MMA, isso influencia a sua bolsa, seu nome... Hoje, seu cartel é tudo. Eu quero ver a luta primeiro, acho que fiz coisas boas durante a luta e não sei o que ele fez”, finalizou.
