Things were hot on the light weight division of World of Jiu-Jitsu. After last year’s finale, on which Luanna Alzuguir interrupted Kyra Gracie’s reign and won her first title, everybody expected an exciting duel on the last fight of the division’s dispute. And it came full of adrenalin.
“I aready knew she would get this vacancy on the other side and I’ve been training for it… She’s very strong, I could tell”, reveals Gracie, who let it go and went for it, revenging her loss on 2009’s absolute for Luanna. “I decided to let it go… She sticks to her catch and I decided to move forward and I won the fight”, provokes the four-time champion, who won the title on the decision of the judges after a draw on the scoreboard.
Despite not having submitted her last opponent, Kyra celebrates the great championship she did. “Saturday was great, I had seven fights… On my division I submitted all my opponents, except on the finale and on the semifinal I got her with only 30 seconds of fight. I did a great championship, but I knew this could happen because I trained really hard for it. I dedicated three month exclusively for that”, celebrates. After so much training, she just want some rest: “Now I’m going skiing, take some time off”, concluded, in her way to Chile.

Após final quente, Kyra Gracie vai esquiar

O clima estava quente no peso leve do Mundial de Jiu-Jitsu. Após a final do ano passado, na qual Luanna Alzuguir interrompeu o reinado de Kyra Gracie e faturou seu primeiro título, todos esperavam por mais um duelo emocionante na última luta. E ele veio com dose extra de adrenalina.
“Eu já sabia que ela iria chegar do outro lado e já vinha treinando para isso... Ela é bem forte, senti bastante a força dela”, revela a Gracie, que foi para o tudo ou nada no peso e vingou a derrota no absoluto, diante de Luanna. “Resolvi soltar o jogo... Ela fica só fazendo aquela pegadinha dela ali e eu resolvi jogar pra frente e ganhei a luta”, alfineta a tetracampeã, que ficou com a vitória na decisão dos juízes após o empate na pontuação.
Apesar de não finalizar a última luta, Kyra comemora o grande campeonato. “Sábado foi bom, fiz um total de sete lutas... No meu peso eu finalizei todas, sem contar com a final, e na semifinal eu peguei em trinta segundos. Fiz um campeonato muito bom, mas eu já sabia que isso poderia acontecer porque eu treinei muito para isso. Me dediquei três meses para isso”, comemora. Após tanto treino, ela só quer descanso: “agora eu vou é esquiar, ficar de férias um pouco”, finalizou, a caminho do Chile.
