With two wins in a roll at the UFC, Paulo Thiago entered the octagon of UFC 115 to beat Martin Kampmann and get one step closer to the top of the welterweight division, but the Danish did not give him any chances, dominated the fight and won on the unanimous decision.
“I didn’t fought well at all, man. I couldn’t do it, I froze… I went forward on the beginning of the fight, but then I got stuck there. I don’t know what happened, but I couldn’t play my game and he won”, regrets Thiago on a chat with TATAME, aware of his bad performance on this one unlike the previous fights. “I couldn’t make my game plan… Maybe I could have done better, but I didn’t. Now I have to study this fight, try to see my mistakes, improve my mental state and make it up with myself”.

Com duas vitórias consecutivas no UFC, Paulo Thiago entrou no octagon do UFC 115 para bater Martin Kampmann e subir mais um degrau rumo ao topo da categoria, mas o dinamarquês não deu chances, dominou a luta e venceu na decisão.
“Eu lutei mal para caramba, velho. Na hora não saiu, eu travei... Fui para cima do cara no começo da luta, ele até andava para trás, mas eu fiquei meio travado ali. Não sei o que foi, mas eu não conseguia me soltar e ele ganhou”, lamenta o casca-grossa em conversa com a TATAME, reconhecendo que não conseguiu desenvolver seu jogo como nas lutas anteriores. “Eu não consegui me soltar... Talvez eu pudesse ter feito melhor, mas não fiz. Agora é estudar a luta, tentar ver os erros, melhorar a minha cabeça e correr atrás do prejuízo”.
