Former champion of UFC in two divisions, Randy Couture is the fighter who did more belt disputes in all history of the event. Being smart and being good at advertising, he has shown his interest in confronting Maurício Shogun for the light heavyweight title and, now, his new focus is the possible fight with Anderson Silva, on the 205 pounds division.
“I'm definitely interested at fighting at 205. I think Anderson would be a great fight. I think he's a fantastic fighter, and if that's someone they want me to compete against I'd be all over that”, volunteers the “Captain America”, commenting the recent wins with “no emotion” of the Brazilian over names like Demian Maia and Patrick Cole. “Maia, Cote, he could have finished those guys if he wanted to take the risk, so I'm not sure what's going on”, said to SB Nation.
Before thinking about Anderson Silva, Randy Couture will have to beat the former boxer James Toney on UFC 118, which happens on August 28.

Ex-campeão do UFC em duas categorias, Randy Couture é o lutador com mais disputas de cinturão na história do evento. Malandro e bom de marketing, ele já mostrou o interesse em enfrentar Maurício Shogun pelo título dos meio-pesados e, agora, seu novo foco é uma possível luta contra Anderson Silva, mas na categoria até 93kg.
“Estou interessado em lutar até 93kg, e eu acho que Anderson seria uma grande luta. Eu o acho um lutador fantástico, e se eu sou alguém que eles gostariam de ver contra o Anderson, estou dentro”, se candidata o “Capitão América”, comentando as recentes vitórias “sem emoção” do brasileiro sobre nomes como Demian Maia e Patrick Cote. “Ele poderia ter nocauteado esses caras se quisesse correr o risco, então não sei o que está acontecendo”, disse, ao site SB Nation.
Antes de pensar em Anderson Silva, porém, Randy Couture terá que passar pelo ex-boxeador James Toney no UFC 118, que acontece no dia 28 de agosto.
