Former Strikeforce middleweight champion, Jake Shields confirmed today on his Twitter that he signed up a contract with UFC and that his debut will on UFC 121, against Martin Kampmann. Changing to a lighter division, the one which currently is dominated by the Canadian Georges St. Pierre, Jake faces Paulo Thiago’s tormentor. With 14 wins in a row, Jake gets to the event being really respected, and a win over Kampmann may likely give him a titleshot.

Ex-campeão peso médio do Strikeforce, Jake Shields confirmou hoje através de seu Twitter que assinou contrato com o UFC e fará sua estreia, provavelmente no UFC 121, contra Martin Kampmann. Descendo de peso para competir até 77kg, categoria hoje dominada pelo canadense Georges St. Pierre, Jake encara o algoz de Paulo Thiago em sua última luta. Com 14 vitórias consecutivas, Jake chega com moral ao maior evento do mundo, e um triunfo sobre Kampmann pode credenciar o americano como o próximo candidato ao cinturão.
