Vitor Vianna submits in Las Vegas

Without fighting since 2008, the Black belt of Jiu-Jitsu Vitor Vianna went back for the rings with a win on Saturday (31). On a bout with the American BJ Lacy on MMA Xplosion, which happened on Hard Rock Café, in Las Vegas, the sparring of Wanderlei Silva submitted his opponent yet on the first round of the fight. After bang a little, Vitor came closer and in few seconds he and BJ were stuck on the clinch, where he got a good takedown and felt already with the guard passed. From then on, Vitor mounted on BJ, who gave up on his back to Vianna, who fit hooks and a rear naked choke, which defined the combat. Sem lutar desde 2008, o faixa-preta de Jiu-Jitsu Vitor Vianna voltou aos ringues com vitória no último sábado (31). Na luta contra o americano BJ Lacy no MMA Xplosion, que aconteceu no Hard Rock Café, em Las Vegas, o braço direito e sparring de Wanderlei Silva finalizou ainda no primeiro round de luta. Depois de trocar um pouco, Vitor encurtou e entrou no clinche com BJ Lacy, onde conseguiu uma bela queda e já caiu de guarda passada. Do cem quilos, Vitor montou e BJ cedeu as costas para Vianna, que colocou os ganchos e encaixou o mata-leão que definiu o combate. Drysdale submits quickly on his pro MMA debut

With a win on amateur MMA, Robert Drysdele, absolute champion of ADCC on 2007, had his so expected professional debut last Saturday on Armageddon Fighting Championship 3. Jiu-Jitsu expert, the black belt did not give any chances to Bas Huveneers, submitting him with a katagatami in only 72 seconds of fight. With three more fights to do on his AFC’s contract, Drysdale revealed to MMAFighting’s website that he hopes to fight more times this year an to sign a contract with Strikeforce or UFC.

Last night, the Brazilians were great attractions of Impact FC 2, which happened in Australia, but not all of them got good results. On the main event of the evening, Pedro Rizzo used the same old efficient low kicks game and knocked out Ken Shamrock, while Paulo Filho battled for 15 minutes to a draw against Denis Kang. Rizzo, Ninja and Daley victorious on Impact FC

Great Brazilian names got into action on Impact FC, event which happened last Saturday in Sydney, Australia. Pedro Rizzo and Murilo Ninja rocked last night. On the main event of the evening, Pedro ran over the veteran Ken Shamrock, beating him by knockout on the very first round. Ninja beat Jeremy May by submission, also on the initial round. The confrontation everybody was waiting for ended with a draw between Paulo Filho and Denis Kang.

One of the most waited bouts of the event marked the comeback of Murilo Bustamante, former middleweight champion of UFC to the rings after three years off. But Brazilian Top Team’s party was not complete, because Murilo was beat by Jesse Taylor on the second round, by TKO. Pride’s former fighter, Daniel Acácio also lost, being bet by Paul Daley on the final round. Completing the Brazilian participation, Glover Teixeira beat Mark Peseli by TKO.

Rizzo e Ninja arrasam no Impact FC

Grandes nomes brasileiros em ação no Impact FC, evento que aconteceu na noite de ontem em Sidney, Austrália, Pedro Rizzo e Murilo Ninja arrasaram na noite de ontem. Fazendo a luta principal da noite, Pedro atropelou o veterano Ken Shamrock, vencendo por nocaute técnico ainda no primeiro round. Ninja, por sua vez, venceu Jeremy May por finalização, também no round inicial. O aguardado duelo entre Paulão Filho e Denis Kang acabou em empate.

Uma das lutas mais aguardadas do evento marcava o retorno de Murilo Bustamante, ex-campeão peso médio do UFC, aos ringues após três anos afastado. Porém, a festa da Brazilian Top Team não foi completa, pois Murilo acabou superado por Jesse Taylor no segundo assalto, por nocaute técnico.  Ex-lutador do Pride, Daniel Acácio também perdeu, superado por Paul Daley no último round. Completando a participação brasileira, Glover Teixeira passou por Mark Peseli por nocaute técnico.

Ewerton Teixeira back to K-1 with a KO

Stepping on the ring for the first time in 2010, the Brazilian Ewerton Teixeira made a great presentation at K-1 Oceania, which happened last Saturday (10) in Canberra, Australia. With less than three minutes, the karate fighter got three knockdowns over Alex Roberts, getting the win on the first round (watch the combat below). On 70kg Oceania GP, the Australian Ben Roberts got the title with three knockouts, each of them in less than 90 seconds.

Subindo no ringue pela primeira vez em 2010, o brasileiro Ewerton Teixeira deu show na etapa australiana do K-1, que aconteceu no último sábado (10) em Canberra. Com menos de dois minutos e meio de combate, o carateca anotou três knockdowns em Alex Roberts, ficando com a vitória ainda no primeiro round (assista ao combate abaixo). Na GP Oceania até 70kg, o australiano Ben Roberts fez a alegria da torcida local e ficou com o título ao anotar três nocautes, todos em menos de 90 segundos.
