Lucas Lepri: from the honey moon to the mat

Who watched Lucas Lepri’s fights at World League Pro Jiu-Jitsu, that happened earlier this month in São Paulo, didn’t imagine that he, days before the competition, was on a church. “It was all the rush of parties, but with five days left to the event I came to São Paulo and trained a little bit, so everything went well”, the athlete told, and won the lightweight’s title after the wedding.

Rooted in New York, the athlete let the gymnasium with the pocket full of money, but who’s gonna be happy is his wife. “The honey moon will be even more special, full of gifts to the wife (laughs). Now I’ll rest a little bit this end of year to be even better on the next”, guarantees, excited to 2010. “I want to come for it. I went good this year, I just didn’t win the kimono’s worlds”, remembers, talking about the life on the United States.

“It’s cool, I’m training and teaching a lot. I want to thank Alliance New York guys for opening the doors to me. Now it will start getting cod up there, but it won’t be a big problem now that I’ll rest and enjoy the money (laughs)”, the champion said, warning the other athletes of the category. “Me and Michael Langhi will be very focused next year”.

Lucas Lepri: da lua de mel para o tatame

Quem assistiu a atuação de Lucas Lepri na World League Pro Jiu-Jitsu, que aconteceu no último final de semana em São Paulo, não imaginava que ele, dias antes da competição, estava subindo ao altar. “Estava a maior correria das festas, mas faltando cinco dias pro evento vim para São Paulo e treinei um pouco, aí deu tudo certo”, contou o atleta, que conquistou o título dos leves na competição.

Radicado em Nova Iorque, o atleta deixou o ginásio com o bolso cheio de dinheiro, e quem vai ficar feliz é a esposa. “A lua de mel vai ser ainda mais especial, cheio de presente pra esposa (risos). Agora, vou descansar um pouquinho nesse final de ano pra voltar ainda melhor no próximo”, garante, animado para 2010. “Quero vir com tudo. Fui bem nesse ano, só não levei o mundial de quimono”, relembra, comentando a vida nos Estados Unidos.

“Está legal, estou treinando e dando várias aulas. Queria agradecer ao pessoal da Alliance Nova Iorque por abrirem as portar para mim. Agora começa a esfriar lá, ainda bem que não vai atrapalhar muito agora, que vou descansar e curtir o dinheirinho (risos)”, disse o campeão, avisando aos outros atletas da categoria. “Eu e o Michael Langhi vamos muito focados no ano que vem”, finalizou.
