Alliance’s purple belt, the American Jordan Schultz got to the finale on the light weight division after beating Sean Roberts (Gracie Elite Team), and confronted a member of the most traditional family of the soft art. Ronnis Gracie (Gracie Barra), who had beat Rafael Pereira (Gracie Elite Team), on the other semifinal, ha a 6x0 score on his favor, sweeping and mounting, but Jordan showed his claws.

Faixa-roxa da Alliance, o americano Jordan Schultz chegou à final do peso leve ao bater Sean Roberts (Gracie Elite Team), e enfrentou um membro da família mais tradicional da arte suave na final. Ronnis Gracie (Gracie Barra), que havia vencido Rafael Pereira (Gracie Elite Team) na outra semifinal, chegou a abrir 6x0 na grande final, raspando e montando, mas Jordan mostrou muita garra.
Escapando de um estrangulamento, o pupilo de Romero Jacaré e Rubens Cobrinha obrigou o Gracie a virar de costas e logo encaixou o arm-lock. “Primeiro quero agradecer ao Cobrinha e Jacaré, meus treinadores... Eles sempre me apoiaram, me ensinaram boas técnicas e nos levam ao nosso limite... Sem eles, eu não estaria aqui”, comemora o americano de 24 anos, que venceu seu primeiro Mundial após um ano de treino na Alliance. “Ronnis é muito duro, tem uma guarda muito forte... Tentei passar e ele deixou o braço, então finalizei”, explica o gringo. “Ele é um grande lutador, espero enfrentá-lo novamente”.
