The feather weight division of World of Jiu-Jitsu, which happened last weekend in California, was dominated by Gracie Barra, but for the excitement of the audience who was present in Long Beach, in California, there was a final fight. “I fought against Fabi on South America, but we have never done a World finale”, tells Bianca Barreto, who swept Fabiana Borges and got the golden medal. “We worked really hard to get to this point, so our professors and coaches understand that… And the best should win”, explains.
To fight against a training partner is a complicated issue on Jiu-Jitsu, but Bianca shows that is possible to fight for real without any problems. “I fought several times against my sister, Tânia… She’s also a black belt, she won the bronze medal on Brazil’s absolute and on the medium division too. We always confront each other… Sometimes she wins, sometimes I do… It’s like a real family”, jokes, wanting another title on 2011: “I’ll try to win my seventh… Who knows?”.

Para Bianca, companheira pode virar oponente

O peso pena do Mundial de Jiu-Jitsu, que aconteceu no último final de semana na Califórnia, foi dominado pela Gracie Barra, mas, para a alegria da torcida que foi ao ginásio de Long Beach, na Califórnia, rolou final. “Eu já tinha lutado com a Fabi no Sul Americano, mas nunca tinha feito uma final de Mundial com ela”, conta Bianca Barreto, que raspou Fabiana Borges para ficar com o ouro. “Nós ralamos muito para chegar aqui, então os nossos professores e instrutores compreendem isso... Então, que vença a melhor”, explica.
Lutar com o companheiro de treino é assunto delicado no Jiu-Jitsu, mas Bianca mostra que é possível lutar “à vera” sem problemas. “Eu já fiz várias finais com a minha irmã, a Tânia... Ela é faixa preta também, foi terceiro lugar agora no absoluto no Brasileiro e na categoria médio. A gente sempre se pega... Às vezes ela ganha, às vezes eu ganho... É como uma família mesmo”, brinca, de olho em mais título em 2011: “vou tentar o meu sétimo... Quem sabe?”, indaga a hexacampeã mundial.
