The Brazilian night on Strikeforce, which happened last Saturday on the United States, would be perfect, but Vitor Shaolin was defeated by Lyle Beerbohm by unanimous decision. Despite all American journalists pointed out the win of the Brazilian, the judges did not agreed with them. “Man, it’s the first time I see a guy spending all the fight defending himself and getting off there with a loss”, rebelled André Pederneiras, Nova União’s leader. “There were a lot of critics, because Shaolin attacked all the time and there was a judge that gave 30 to 27 for the other guy…I think they missed his name on the paper, it’s not possible”.
In a chat with TATAME, Pederneiras revealed he and the manager Alex Davis will file a lawsuit along with the Athletic Commission, asking them to change the result. “They can’t do that, is absurd, it’s not right. Even if I have to ask the help of a lawyer, I will change this outcome”, says André, complaining that the judges were wrong in other contests too. "I can’t understand. When I went to see it, there was a guy who gave the round to a guy who was beaten up by Jacaré in three rounds, and now they managed to give a round for the guy who was beaten by “BigFoot” during the three rounds”, he complains.
Despite being a hard mission to accomplish, Pederneiras hopes make the result a No Contest, at least. And he has done that before. “Here in the U.S. I don’t how it worksk. I was in Japan, an even that no one has never cancel a result before (Shooto), and I didn’t even need a lawyer there, I just wrote a letter telling the whole fight, point by point, second by second and a loss they have given to Robinho turned out a draw. I couldn’t make it a win, but I got a draw”, the black belt reminds, when he cancelled the loss of Róbson Moura against Mamoru Yamaguchi in 2004.

Dedé tentará anular derrota de Shaolin

A noite brasileira no Strikeforce, que rolou no último sábado nos Estados Unidos, seria perfeita, não fosse a polêmica derrota de Vitor Shaolin para o invicto Lyle Beerbohm na decisão dos juízes. Apesar de todos os jornalistas americanos apontarem a vitória do brasileiro, os juízes deram a vitória para o gringo. “Cara, é a primeira vez que eu vejo um cara só se defender e ganhar a luta”, se revolta André Pederneiras, líder da Nova União. “Criticaram bastante, pois o Shaolin atacou o tempo todo e teve juiz que deu 30 a 27 para o outro... Acho que erraram o nome dele no papel, não é possível”.
Em conversa com a TATAME, Dedé revelou que se juntou ao empresário Alex Davis e entrará com um processo junto à Comissão Atlética, pedindo para alterar o resultado. “Os caras não podem fazer isso, é um absurdo, não tem cabimento nenhum o que fizeram. Acho que, para mudar isso, só se todo mundo se naturalizar americano, aí cai na graça dos caras... Nem que tenha que entrar com advogado, vou mudar esse resultado”, avisa Dedé, reclamando que os juízes erraram em outras lutas também. “Não dá para entender. Quando eu fui ver, teve cara que deu o round para um cara que foi espancado pelo Jacaré nos três rounds, conseguiram dar um round pro cara que foi espancado pelo Pezão durante os três rounds”, reclama.
Apesar de ser uma missão difícil, Dedé tem esperança de conseguir anular a derrota do lutador. Experiência própria, ele já conseguiu isso antes. “Aqui nos Estados Unidos eu não tenho muita noção desse histórico. Eu estava no Japão, em um evento que ninguém nunca reverteu (Shooto), e lá não precisei nem de advogado, só fiz uma carta narrando a luta inteira, ponto por ponto, segundo por segundo, e uma derrota que eles tinham dado para o Robinho virou um empate. Não consegui reverter para vitória, mas consegui um empate”, relembra o faixa-preta, que anulou o revés de Róbson Moura contra Mamoru Yamaguchi, em 2004.
