On a historical night in California, United States, Fedor Emelianenko, considered the best heavyweight in all history of MMA, lasted only 69 seconds against the Brazilian Fabrício Werdum, who write his name on history as the first fighter to beat the Russian. Expert in Jiu-Jitsu, Wedum suffered a knockdown on the beginning of the bout, but took advantage of the Fedor’s momentum, who tried to work on the ground and pound game, and fit a triangle position, getting his opponent’s arm, submitting and ending the fight right there. Historical win for the Brazilian on his MMA career.

“I’m glad. I trained hard, my family and my team were very important to me. I’d like to thank Fedor for the opportunity. Fedor is the best of the world. I beat him today, but he’s the best”, celebrated Werdum, still on the octagon. “He that doesn’t fall, doesn’t know what to get up”, said Fedor, pretty upset, after losing to the Brazilian, explaining what went wrong after his first defeat. “I was very focused on my blow and that’s why I made this mistake. I’ll have to watch it all over again so I can tell what my mistake was”, regretted the Russian.

CYBORG KNOCKS OUT DEBUTANT

Being a debutant on Strikeforce, the American Jan Finney confronted Cris Cyborg and she was not enough even on the beginning. With over 230 blows given against the American, Chute Boxe’s athlete gave her opponent a Muay Thai lesson, punishing her on the standing game on the first round and getting a knockout on the second one. “I want to train more and I’ll be ready for whoever Scott Coker tells me to confront”, said Cyborg, who thanked her family, sponsores and… her dentist.

BRAZILIAN LOSES ON THE PRELIMINARY COMBATS

The first Brazilian to get into action on the event, Vagner Rocha end up beaten by Brett Bergmark on a unanimous decision of the judges. Yet on the preliminary card, Chris Cope and Yancy Medeiros won by TKO, while Bobby Stack beat Derrick Burnsed on a spli decision. On the first bout on the main card, the lightweights Josh Thomson and Pat Healy had a tied duel and a very busy one on the ground, and who got the win was Josh with a rear naked choke, on the third round.

O Fedor é o melhor do mundo.
